Roomates did a great cover of this about 20 years ago - made it more of a New York street corner sound.

May be 'pastiche' - but most of these blokes were 50's R&B/Doo Wop veterans

Adrano Celentano - Prisencolinensinainciusol

A "nonsense" song designed to sound like English. It's a proper foot-tapoer anyway. :scarfer:

Sometimes called the first ever rap song. Copy of it fell into my hands a couple of years ago in a bundle of records.

Think its early 70s but he used to sing rock'n'roll italiano back in the 50s - had an album of his.

I'm sure i've probably posted this before by Clem Sacco

Picked this one up on a compilation yesterday - great poppy/doo-woppy song from 1959.

The Amos Milburn track reminds me of 80s nights at the Dublin Castle watching the likes of Ricky Cool and the Big Town Playboys, the Red Hot Pokers, Essex's own Rent Party and Clive's Jive Five - they all played that 50s R'n'B/jumpin' jive sound and were a great introduction to the genre, which is fantastic live in a packed pub. So here's a few they used to play by some original 40s and 50s blokes

My first social trip to Brentwood was triggered by this stuff :eyes: She was blonde, investment banking or something, somewhere in the square mile sort of thing .....thanks to Slim Harpo and co...
