Coolio RIP
Exact cause of death hasn't been revealed as yet but it's believed to have been cardiac arrest. He was found unresponsive on the floor at his friend's house having gone to use the bathroom.
He was 59.

Wasn't an enormous fan if I'm honest but Gangsta's Paradise was a monster tune at the time. And 59 is far too young to be saying goodbye to anyone.
RIP

Re: Coolio RIP
Rap's not exactly my thing, although I don't mind some of it, but have to say, his song in 'Gangsta's Paradise', for which won a Gramny award, is one of the, if not, the best Rap song ever. The dude and he was dude, deserves a place on Hollywood's walk of fame for that song,. RIP 'Dude'

Re: Coolio RIP
As others have said, not a rap fan at all,(this and certain Eminem tracks are the only rap I would listen to),but really like this tune. Reminds me of a good time in my life, which always helps with music outside your usual genres.

Re: Coolio RIP
Love rap/hip hop, but was never a big fan of Coolio, bar as others have said the monster tune that was "Gangstas Paradise".
Michelle Pfeiffer hmmmm lovely, in Dangerous Minds got a lot more views due to that tune as well I imagine - Was good film in fairness.
Another one way to young, RIP.

Re: Coolio RIP
The earliest pioneers of the genre - Herc, Bambaataa, Flash etc. - were born in the mid/late 1950s so they're only in their mid-sixties; still just a shade too early to be shuffling off naturally imho.

Re: Coolio RIP
Smoked "rock cocaine" (whatever that is) for a long period in his youth, guess it's possible the damage that caused finally caught up with him. Poor sod, he was a terrific rapper & lyricist, and a very interesting character, will be much missed.

Here's a funny short clip of him performing on an Irish daytime TV show which had booked him by mistake so had the production crew dressed as back up dancers
