Re: Next Labour Leader
Yeah I've always sort of found her irritating but she went up a lot in my estimation there. The bit at the end was key - "you don't make it possible if you don't win elections".
Owen Jones is the sort of poisonous festering turd who will never be happy regardless of what is happening and will always seek to play the victim.

Very much a fan of her approach to most things but lost all respect for her as a person when I heard her on a podcast saying you can't get a good curry in London.

Did she ever disclose what happened to the crowdfunding money for her leadership bid?

Why’s that? Is there something we should all be made aware of or is it the fact she got money from a property developer you are objecting to?SammyLeeWasOffside wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 10:51 am Did she ever disclose what happened to the crowdfunding money for her leadership bid?

She launched a crowdfunding thing for a leadership campaign that never happened. Questions were asked at the time and I wondered if it was ever announced what she did with people's money.

Re: Next Labour Leader
It's crowdfunding tbf. If people want to part with their money it's up to them.
It's not like she frittered billions of public money on test and trace or something is it?

She processed all donations in compliance with the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (PPERA) according to the Crowd funding website.SammyLeeWasOffside wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 5:13 pm Huh?

That's getting the money in for her leadership campaign. My point is what did she do with it after deciding not to run a leadership campaign.Hammer1966 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 10:00 pm She processed all donations in compliance with the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (PPERA) according to the Crowd funding website.

Re: Next Labour Leader
You raise money for a specific purpose and make a play out of your campaign being funded by ordinary, working class people. Then you don't run. What happens to the money is all I am asking. Do people get it back? Do people have to check if it's ok to use it for other purposes.

Re: Next Labour Leader
She did run. She started her campaign and realised she hadn't a chance of winning so pulled out. I'm assuming she used the money for payment of videos, marketing etc. The statement about compliance with regulations was posted after she withdrew from the race. If she broke any rules let me know.SammyLeeWasOffside wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 9:10 am That's getting the money in for her leadership campaign. "She once raised some money in a totally legal and above board fashion, and I don't know what it was spent on".
