Perhaps not quite what it was but, as you say, great fun all the same.

Re: What did you watch last night?
To be honest it is getting a wee bit stale. Only on episode 2 though of the season.

Industry
Series 2 on BBC2. I really enjoyed the first series of this Investment banking drama set against a back drop of booze, sex and cocaine fuelled deals being brokered in the back of London cabs and high rise executive apartments.
So far the second series has stuck to the same formula of Machiavellian shenanigans and I’m enjoying it just as much. I didn’t even know there was a second series coming and it was only because I had the first one on series record that Sky Q picked it up automatically. It feels like this is a drama flying under the radar a little but its well worth tuning into and features a really great synth soundtrack.

Re: What did you watch last night?
Welcome to Wrexham - enjoyable watch watching Rob McElhenney & Ryan Reynolds come to terms with buying the football club. Really liked the human side of the supporters to this series, particularly the painter & decorator As I say, enjoyable watch, with Ryan Reynolds bringing some lolz to it.

Thanks for the reminder. Absolutely loved the first series but didn’t realise a second was out!Chicken Run Supreme wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 9:14 am Industry

Re: What did you watch last night?
Following on nicely from Once Upon A Time..., Judas and the Black Messiah (2021). An incredible story, if not not the most compelling script. Like OUATIH, it features a Tarantino-esque conclusion - although of course we're dealing with real history here as opposed to the writers' vivid imagination. Daniel Kaluuya is excellent as Fred Hampton, which pretty much guaranteed an Oscar win as is often the case with fillums of such gravitas.

I enjoyed it. I had to suspend belief loads of times when this old geezer was able to wipe out stronger younger fitter men fairly easily.Morocco Mole wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 9:06 pm The Old Man - Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow on Disney Plus. Get on it.

and he's great in the role, with a pretty good supporting cast also....

4 episodes in and that’s probably the least implausible thing about it to be fair.Cuenca 'ammer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 9:18 pm I enjoyed it. I had to suspend belief loads of times when this old geezer was able to wipe out stronger younger fitter men fairly easily.
Not quite what I expected after the pilot episode but still an enjoyable watch.

Re: What did you watch last night?
BBC1
INSIDE MAN
Ep 3 and after a good first two this has started to annoy me, not all of it though
The 'Stanley Tucci' part of the story is, IMO, very good, and possibly worthy of a second series, but the ' David Tennant' part of the story is, IMO,
becoming increasingly predictable and ridiculous. (Her OFTness agrees, so I must be correct ). Hopefully this will be less so in Ep4 and the final tonight where I assume it all 'comes together'.
Anyone else ??

I wouldn't say that he overcame that guy in episode 2 easily. He got battered really and had to rely on his dogs.Cuenca 'ammer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 9:18 pm I enjoyed it. I had to suspend belief loads of times when this old geezer was able to wipe out stronger younger fitter men fairly easily.

Re: What did you watch last night?
I watched The Walk-In on ITV which is about the far right in Britain. Found it very lacklustre. It was missing a certain edge. The Left Behind one off drama or American History X are better watches for the subject.
I’ll give it one more episode and forget it if it’s not improved.

Re: What did you watch last night?
Loads of action. Fairly brutal and realistic in the sense that it’s more rolling around on the floor jujitsu/pub car park style rather than slick choreographed stand up martial arts. It’s actually really well done.
There are some absolutely ridiculous plot devices staring to reveal though…..
