Colours never run wrote: Wed Aug 17, 2022 9:01 pm The thing about Mic is he has been written off his entire career. Won't make it as a Pro, proves critics wrong. Won't get to the Premier League, proves critics wrong. Will struggle to cement a 1st team place, proves critics wrong. Is never a Striker, proves critics wrong. Injury prone hamstrings will probably have to sell him, proves critics wrong.

And I think he's one of those characters who just loves being written off so he can prove yet again he can silent his critics. And even after all the recent signings up front/out wide at his age, I still think there's a other chapter left to write for him. And I love it because it must be such an infectious thing to have around the training ground. Model Pro who with limited technical ability but makes up with a class attitude and application. Here's to proving them wrong again, Michail. :muscle:
I read countless posts in the summer worrying about Antonio's form/being 32/new Forward signings pushing him out but never doubted he'd prove people wrong (yet again). I absolutely love that about him and would trust him in the side until I see a significant drop off in fitness and he shows no signs of that yet. Keep doing what you do best, Antonio. 👏

Is he still gonna continue playing for Jamaica?
They are playing Argentina during the international break (tues/weds) before our Saturday game with Wolves.

Seems its being played at the Red Bull academy training field 1 in New York. Don't think that has a great capacity!

I think Jamaica are focusing on their younger players in the hope of making the 2026 World Cup.

I highly doubt Antonio would be in contention then so I doubt they call him up now.

16 European apperances is the most in West Ham history.
7 players have 15, including Billy Bonds and Mark Noble.

Criminally subbed today I thought. He's been staking his claim for first choice very well, however the dross around him that has been Bowen, Fornals, Cornet, Paqueta and Soucek certainly hasn't helped.

*Obvious disclaimer, I don't think those players are that bad, but they've been playing badly.

Is it illegal to use him at the same time as Scamacca?

Is 0-1 not enough? Does it need to be 0-3?

Antonio was very good today and should have stayed on, actually thought Moyes might go 2 up top when bringing on Scamacca but same **** every game

Annoys me. A goal down so play with 2 up top. May as well lose 2-0 and have a go.

Unfortunate to be hooked today.

I reckon him and Scamacca could work well together.

He is actually playing half-decent, just before the players behind Benny, Fornals, Bowen etc aren't scoring like last season

Arguably our best attacking player today, harshly subbed when Bowen et al were passengers. Was hoping for Scamacca and Antonio, not just one at a time. I just hope the poor management of Haller doesn't repeat itself, but I fear it will.

Completely agree Antonio was playing well - no reason to take him off ahead of others today.

Completely bizarre. I’m not in the camp of people who think they can start together, but 0-1 with Antonio still looking fresh and playing well it was just so negative to take him off.

That's because people thought it was filmed when we were bottom of the league..............but it wasn't.
