RIP - from what I've seen on social meedja, he was a jolly fine chap as well as a great musician.

One of those bands that I never really thought that I was into, but looking at the section of Depeche Mode songs in my musical library shows that I like them a lot more than I thought. Also a band who's albums I have intended to explore a bit more and I've always been impressed by other versions of their songs - Johnny Cash (Personal Jesus) and Johnny Marr (I Feel You) are two fine examples.

First saw them in '81, aged 14.
Been my favourite band throughout that time.
Would loved to have been at those slightly earlier Bridge House gigs. Always hoped there was more West Ham connections than there was, just had to settle for them putting Basildon on the map.
Fletch was Chelsea but at least Dave's son is a Hammer.

More awful news.

Went to see DM in '93, not because I gave two rubs for them but because they were being supported by a slightly bemused Sisters of Mercy. As it happened, Depeche Mode were absolutely brilliant and I came away from that gig a big fan. It took a trek to Crystal Palace to turn this Basildon boy onto those Basildon boys; but I'm glad it happened, however it happened.
RIP Fletch
I was there too and when they did Wembley Arena a few years before. Good old Goth days

Cheers for posting that UTJ, very moving

Enjoy The Silence has always been my favourite Mode track and that version is wonderful.

Still feeling sad about this.

First listened to DM when I was about 11, sitting in my older brothers bedroom, listening to his newly purchased LP of Some Great Reward on his record player. He tolerated me sitting with him because I shared the same music taste despite the age difference. Became a lifelong fan, still a band I feel are underappreciated in this country. Have been listening to almost nothing else since I found out.

RIP Fletch

Hate gigs at Twickenham so might wait to see if they do an arena show later next year.

Seen them loads of times over the years and they have got very samey to be honest.

Hope the album is better than the last one.

Twickenham puts me off.

They're doing Amsterdam in an arena, so might do that instead.

Ridiculously high priced considering cost of living crisis.

May I ask why twickenham is poor for concerts?

I felt my view at London stadium was miles away in the upper tier when I watched them last time.
