I do enjoy the FUT but I may swerve this year as I don't think I can get the hours in I'll need to. Anything of note changed year on year?

£42.99 on CD Keys if you're a PC player (just been looking for UtJ Jnr):

I'll probably buy it but I only have Stadia now (no Xbox/PS since 2013!).

I have little to no interest in the online stuff, so will probably just do a few career modes. Shame it doesn't go on long enough to really utilise investing in youth. Even Madden had a 30 year lot when I last played it, which was far better for going for some long term transformation

I’ll probably wait till after Christmas and see what they do with the patches. They usually find a way to kill the game by patch three!

Tried the 10 hour trial on EA Play for 79p and just don't bother. It's the worst one yet. They've changed up a lot to be fair to them but the game plays more like that terrible game PES became when it went free-to-play. It is genuine garbage and I want my 79p back

I realised I get EA Play through Gamepass so downloaded it for the 10 hours. Feels better than FIFA 22 did at this stage, passing and movement off the ball a lot better but yes very slow and feels like gravity is turned up. I’ll play it a bit more, but struggling to see it is worth £60.

It is agonisingly slow and nothing seems to have any weight to it. Scored from outside the area and the ball just slowly flew through the air and arched in such an unsatisfying way. Also the servers are really tanking right now as it's just come out so giving it a break.

Weirdly the referees whistle and the sound of the goal net come through the PS5 remote. Anything like that for Xbox?

Had a quick go last night on the free trial, playing as AFC Richmond :crossed:

I quite liked it, felt quite natural and the interface for taking free kicks and corners was clearer than before. I also had a quick look at FUT and they seem to have toned down chemistry and made it a lot more flexible than before so you can have a better mix of players from different leagues and nationalities

The other week, I played my neohews on the current version (after about 10 years out of the loop of FIFA gaming).

The little sh*ts wouldn't tell me how to turn off the aim icon whenever I got a penalty, so they could clearly see where I was going!

This is a very welcome addition. There is always a meta team because the game doesn't allow for enough variability

My Mrs got me '22 for Christmas. I really enjoyed it, after a 10 year Fifa break, but it soon became boring playing against the same 'meta' team.

Had a nightmare with this, trying to get UtJ Jnr's wireless Xbox 1 controller to work on his laptop.

Spent six hours trying to fix it and failed miserably. Ended up having to use a lead. Apparently this has been an issue for several years now.

I packed Mbappe on Day 1, and have since packed the One To Watch Lewandowski and Jay Jay Okocha, spending only 20 quid.

I'm hooked for the entire year now.

Tradeable?

I packed Henry last year and sold him for about 750k (I think) and it set my team up for the rest of the year.

Yeah mine was tradeable, sold for 1.65m which was crazy, but I think Crouching Peekys kid trumps us both!

I went a brought a PS5 for "the family" over the weekend and this had FIFA as part of the bundle (I also got F1, Cricket 22 & Hell Let Loose).

I packed Cancelo immediately and sold him for 125k so have managed to buy myself a decent English team with Harry Kane, Foden and Mount attacking. Obviously have Dawson at the back.

Guess I've played about 10 game on FUT this week and have about a 50% win ratio. Found it enjoyable, but then I couldn't tell you if it was **** or not as I don't play enough to notice the nuances that are mentioned. I'm enjoying it, anyway.
