Mount out for either Foden or Grealish should be the only change imo same as it shouldve been for Friday night.

1-1 written all over it.

SSN saying Henderson in but Bellingham keeps his place. :chin: If true that must mean Rice drops to the bench.

They also claim Foden, Rashford and Walker all start

EDIT - just seen Danny Dyer’s post. Could see a formation change then.

radio backtracking a little now

Rice, Bellingham and Henderson to start.

guess that means that Mount steps down ?

we won't miss what he didn't bring to the last game will we..

I’m all for dropping Mount but what does Henderson bring to the table at this point in his career? He’s looked finished at Liverpool

In which case, I’d like Iran to win by a goal and Wales to take an early 4-0 lead, with England scoring a highly contentious goal in the dying seconds to lose the game 4-1.

The only thing he brings, and what England lack, is leadership.

Other than that I have no idea

I think that's very harsh. His passing and awareness on the ball is excellent plus he's a leader.

Not sure I'd play both him and Rice together considering the opposition. If it's him plus Bellingham in the middle I think that's more than fine if Rice is given the night off.

Henderson is more than capable of playing against Wales's team of mostly championship level players. His leadership is invaluable, and he is a lot more front foot than our own sideways passing master.

England need another basically defensive midfielder and leadership to beat Wales? That’s my point regarding Henderson, him playing is Southgate thinking too much about playing down to Wales style rather than trying to implement our own

Still Wales are abysmal so it should be irrelevant and if Wales to get a result then it won’t be one players fault

Yeah I don't disagree. England should be imposing their style on games like this and building confidence, not packing the midfield with grifters.

He refuses to start with both Grealish and Foden.

that's where games are won or lost imvho.

the philosophy of the manager.

some guys refuse to believe that their team is in any way inferior and make the other team adjust to them.

and there's the ones who think the reverse. I think that's the fine line that Southgate walks and when push comes to shove, he errs on the side of caution.

there should be ZERO reason why we should fear Wales. I know that sounds arrogant but it isn't meant to be. on paper we are a much better team with much better players. we do know though that games are not played on paper.

and that some teams see certain games as their "Cup Final." however, we should impose our game on theirs. if I see Stones and McGuire passing the ball between themselves 150 odd times again, I know what Southgate has decided.

I see we got 2 holding Midfielders in Henderson and Rice. You really couldn't make it up against the worst side(in my opinion) I have seen in the tournament.Wait till we play Brazil or France,he will go to the "Moyes Formation",7 defensive players..So negative for me.

Henderson(one goal every 12 games,one assist every 8)

And he plays in a team that has been one of the best teams in the country in the last 5 years.

We better win well, otherwise Southgate's head will be on the block tonight.
