Re: Wilko Johnson RIP
Very sad news - Wilko was a superb performer and played on some thumping tunes. Apparently he had a red scratch plate on his guitar to hide the blood from his fingers from his unique playing style.

Re: Wilko Johnson RIP
I was very late to the Wilko party, and his music wasn't really my thing, but after watching Oil City Confidential and the Julien Temple film he seemed like a true original and a really nice bloke, and I'm sad about this news.

Re: Wilko Johnson RIP
Awful news. Loved the Feelgoods, and the Solid Senders. Last saw him probably 3 years ago with Norman W-R and still magnificent. Just the best guitar player bar none. Rest in Peace.

This is such a sad piece of news. He was a great performer, and I'm so glad I saw him in his prime.

Sad news.
Loved Dr Feelgood back in the day, and loved Going Back Home too.

Re: Wilko Johnson RIP
It's taken a day or two to sink in, I thought he was immortal. Must of seen every band he ever played with, + one off gigs with The Hamsters, etc. Must be a hammer blow for Norman.
R. I. P., and thanks for a lot of good times.

Re: Wilko Johnson RIP
I remember 'The Mad, Bad and Dangerous tour' with Wilko's Band, The Hamsters and John Otway. That was a cracking evening.

Me too. A brilliant night. On balance I thought Wilko's guitar playing was better than Otway's.

Re: Wilko Johnson RIP
I've always loved Wilko's music and playing style, his attitude to his cancer diagnosis was truly inspirational.
RIP Wilko, I can't quite believe that I won't be able to see him play live again.

There's an excellent personal tribute to Wilko on former Stiff Records (financed by Dr. Feelgood) Stiff - Wreckless Eric at https://www.facebook.com/wrecklesseric/
