It was, OMalley was better than I’d expected. Helps that he’s huge for his division, but was the most competitive fight of the night.

excellent card

missed the undercard which was a shame because I wanted to see Belal.

BUT.

had a mate come over who in his youth took Tai Quo Do.

he was VERY impressed with the level of fighters and bouts. he hadn't seen any UFC for over 5 years or more he said.

he also thought the fighters were very technical and really enjoyed the 5 fights that we saw.

the top two were excellent.

Never thought I’d hear anyone say that!

That’s the performance of his career. Training with AKA had pushed him on to another level.

Kattar’s a tough SOB, will be a huge win if Allen can do it.

That’s not how Allen would have wanted to win but he looked good first round.

Re: UFC

quick bump for what should be a cracking card..

November 12, 2022

Main Card

Israel Adesanya vs. Alex Pereira Title Fight
Carla Esparza vs. Zhang Weili Title Fight
Dominick Reyes vs. Ryan Spann
Erin Blanchfield vs. Molly McCann
Dan Hooker vs. Claudio Puelles
Dustin Poirier vs. Michael Chandler

be interesting to see how McCann gets on outside the comfortable crowds "at home" and the Poirier Chandler fight should be cracker. hard to see why they're not just under the two title fights to be honest.

looks a really good fight night.

looks like there's been a bit of a reshuffle in the card.

Main card (ESPN+ PPV at 10 p.m. ET)

Israel Adesanya (185) vs. Alex Pereira (184.6)
Carla Esparza (114.6) vs. Zhang Weili (114.8)
Dustin Poirier (156) vs. Michael Chandler (155.8)
Frankie Edgar (135.6) vs. Chris Gutierrez (136)
Dan Hooker (155.8) vs. Claudio Puelles (155.2)

Brad Riddell (155.6) vs. Renato Moicano (155.8)
Dominick Reyes (205.4) vs. Ryan Spann (206.6)*
Erin Blanchfield (125) vs. Molly McCann (125.4)
Andre Petroski (185.8) vs. Wellington Turman (185.2)

McCann looks to have been moved to the prelims...

Erin Blanchfield vs. Molly McCann

WOW, just WOW..

at 22 that Blanchfield is one very scary woman......

that Dan Hooker fight was a strange one...might have damaged his knee, he seemed to complain to his corner about it but..

Edgar wouldn't have wanted to go out that way, but an impressive fight from Gutierrez.

stand by for an announcement for Dec 10 apparently.

Textiera rematch ?????

and just announced

https://www.mmafighting.com/2022/11/12/ ... or-ufc-284

Less than a month after the lightweights faced off inside the octagon, the title fight between new champ Islam Makhachev and featherweight titleholder Alexander Volkanovski is officially set.

Promotional officials revealed on Saturday that the champion vs. champion showdown will headline UFC 284, which takes place Feb. 12 at the RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia (due to the time difference, the pay-per-view card will air stateside on Feb. 11).

Poirier Chandler brutal brutal contest..

WOW...worth the price of admission alone...if I actually paid that is....

Carla Esparza vs. Zhang Weili Title Fight

all action, worthy winner..to be honest Esparza didn't win the title convincingly.....Weili was a bit too much for her...

WOW WOW WOW WOW

Israel Adesanya vs. Alex Pereira

unbelievable ending to the fight..incredible fight..think Adesanya might have been slightly ahead on points but WHAT a finish.....honestly what a brilliant overall card..might be the best of the year..

gobsmacked....

Jiri Prochazka releases statement after vacating light heavyweight title, UFC 282 withdrawal

Jiri Prochazka has broken his silence in the wake of a devastating shoulder injury that ultimately led him to vacate the UFC light heavyweight title.

In a statement first posted to Instagram, Prochazka revealed that he suffered the injury in the final days of his training camp as he prepared to face Glover Teixeira in the UFC 282 main event.

As a result of the injury, Prochazka will have to undergo surgery that will keep him out of action for several months.

“I am very disappointed to announce that I will not be defending my belt at UFC 282,” Prochazka wrote. “I was injured in training in Las Vegas while finishing my preparation for my title defense in the UFC’s light heavyweight division. I injured my shoulder and surgery is required which will put me out of action for at least six months.

“Knowing this information, I have decided, after consulting with UFC management, that due to this time constraint, I will not hold [up] the light heavyweight division and will vacate the title.”

Won't miss Dillashaw. Another fighter who tried to cheat & failed. Can't believe Lawlor is still fighting, the mad b*stard. Surely time to hang up the gloves, for the good of his health?

Called every fight correctly so far. Topuria is a serious talent, very underrated fighter with incredible power, timing and speed in his strikes.

Unfortunately, Darren Till is a decent Thai boxer not an MMA fighter imo. You need to be so much more well rounded to compete now.

Teenage sensation Raul Rosas looked very very good on the ground in the prelims.
