Argentina must be favourites as the Dutch have been slightly uninspiring so far but fancy them to give a better showing tonight

There’s some absolute shockers in this Dutch squad though. Blind? Bergwijn? Jansen? Blimey.

Don't bet against that wily ol' Van Gaal. I can see him pulling this off

haven't had a chance to go over the starting line up, but watching them before today, Classen and Blind ?

are you kidding me. but a bit like England, Van Gaal has managed to get more from the team than the individual players in the side.

with the exception of Gapko up front, they don't really have anyone who would scare the beejaysus out of anyone really.

I do like the RB Dumphries is it ?

but the back line of Argentina ?? WC winners ?

pretty much all Argentina after half an hour or so..

the Dutch seem to be happy to give them the ball and wait for a counter...

that was some run and a fantastic through ball from who else....

That’s what the game needed to take it out of Van Gaal throttle tactics. Lovely ball from Leo.

I know there’s a lot of noise every time Messi touches the ball but that’s one of the greatest passes you’ll ever see, considering the gravity. Sublime

That pass from Messi was something else. 1-0 to Argentina...thought it had been a pretty dull, cagey affair up to that point...only livened up by Argentina's fans who, yet again, have been superb

Does he ever get it wrong? Walks about for a bit, gets the ball, dribbles past just the right amount of people then makes the most perfect precision pass at the end of it.
It’s almost annoying the efficiency of the bloke. Unreal.

If Argentina win this, then West Ham are guaranteed to have a link with one of the teams in the final...Vlasic for Croatia and Scaloni for Argentina.

Also...if we beat France and Morocco beat Portugal, then West Ham are guaranteed to have representation in the final from that half of the draw...Aguerd with Morocco and Rice with England.

and luckily enough we have the US commentator asking Stu Holden "how much does it hurt getting your Achilles trodden on ?"

and the sideline reporter telling us that Virgil van Dyke's American sporting heroes are LeBron James and Tom Brady.

Yeah cringe factor is up there. Asking Stu to compare it to a boxing bout too was 🤬. That said I do think that Holden is a good analyst. He has an annoying voice but he is generally on point with his comments.
