The Bisht

Post by The_Dead_Ball »

Seems to be a lot of discussion about Messi having to wear a Bisht when lifting the cup.

So what’s yr view of It? A good idea? A PR stunt?

Did it take steal Messi’s moment of lifting the World Cup in a Argies shirt?

Thoughts?

Probably a gesture by the Emir which is inevitably tied in with Qatar's image. Think Lineker remarked on it , but can't see any outrage on the www. No harm done imo.
Is it double standards to regard Martinez's puerile behaviour as something punishable by FIFA or at least the Argie FA?
This is about the Bisht though

There's always an element of ego involved in these high profile sporting events. How many times did Blatter hand over the world cup and make sure he was in the picture. Infantino with his poor choice of footwear ensuring that he gets talked about.

I'm wondering if Messi had any choice in the matter, or even if he knew what was gonna happen.

Non story imo...
People scrabbling to be offended by something out of nothing...
If the final was in Hawaii & they put a Lei (flower necklace), around his neck before lifting the cup would they be so offended..?
Was Pele wearing a Sombrero after the Mexico 70, offensive..?
Madness... 🙄

As he’s already paid by the Qatari state at PSG I imagine this was discussed beforehand or he at least knew it was an ‘honour’ to be given one so I don’t think it’s an issue other than it making the photos look a bit ****.

Well thought over by Infantino + the emir.
Visible on every picture of the celebrations now.
They should have left him with the Argentina shirt and given him the Bisht afterwards.
They killed Messi's / Argentina's glorious moments with their childish not letting go of the cup as well.
