Bullet Train

I’ve seen This described as a cocktail of Kill Bill, Snatch, The Kingsman and Murder on The Orient Express . To be fair that’s not a bad comparison. It’s had mixed reviews but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Brad Pitt does comedy very well and any film that features 3 different versions of I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles gets a big thumbs up from me. One version by Engelbert Humperdinck, was recorded especially for the film while The Cockney Reject’s version also features along with a third version I don’t know the artist.
Taken as an action comedy vehicle for the afore mentioned Mr Pitt, it’s an enjoyable couple of hours. A lot of Snatch style swearing from twins, Lemon and Tangerine and some graphic novel style violence make it all the more enjoyable.

Director Martin McDonagh gets the In Bruges band (Farrell, Gleeson) back together. Touching, often very funny, beautifully shot meditation on how men crave cerebral solitude as they get older. Much better than I've made it sound. Definitely worth checking out when it's available to watch at home if you can't be arsed to go out.

The reporters account of the wall that was put up to protect him and how everybody was too afraid to speak up through fear of their careers being ended. - (He was paying out settlements, left right and Centre). - absolutely shat himself when Paltrow spoke up due her infamy and credibility (all the rest were easy to dismiss as chancers or whores)

Supposed to be “harrowing” - thought it was pretty average, personally. - if you do have an interest in the topic, probably best to spend 10 mins reading a New York Times article and save yourself the best part of £40

Never saw it in the cinema first time round, so the idea of Michelle Pfeiffer (I had to Google it) in THAT catsuit on the big screen…

Matilda the Musical. Fantastic crowd pleaser, and was really enjoyable.

Don’t mind a musical every now and again but I walked out just feeling good after that, definitely recommend if you have little ones.

I saw this recently as well - a very, very silly gory film. Absolutely loved it. Just what I needed at the time as well, completely made me forget about all the other stuff going on in life.

The new avatar. Despite what Cameron says it's too long by an hour. It could have been better if shorter.

Directors would be happy with a 5 hour film, good editors should be able to get on with cutting and sell the longer version later.
The last Bond film was too long too.

Saw A man called Otto today. A pleasant way to spend 2 hours. Going to see Till next, totally different film.

I watched Plane last night. The wife's choice & it was not good. It felt like an episode of a tv show rather than a full film.

Basically Gerard Butler is a pilot on a budget airline fly from Singapore to Tokyo on New Years Eve, plane crashes in a remote Filipino island & they run into separatist rebels.

Oh yeah there's a bloke who is accused of murder being transported on the plane.

Cate Blanchett will probably win best actress for this but though I found the film a little too long, the writing is superb.

Are cinemas trying to bankrupt themselves?

Over £20 per person plus £0.95 booking fee each ticket for Basildon Festival Leisure cinema on a Saturday for Avatar, albeit it in 3D

Went to Canvey instead £5.50 each plus a £1 transaction fee so total £12 (not in 3D)
