Berterbiev saves himself for the last 45 seconds of every round. His corner needs to get that across to Yarde, he’s punching himself out.

disappointing end. Think both proved their class. Apart from 20 seconds in 5th, never really believed Yarde would have enough

Great fight. Feel for Yarde - monumental effort but there was a pattern that his corner didn’t spot - last 30-45 seconds of every round Beterbiev would unload when Yarde was tired.

Self inflicted to some extent. Three or four times when Yarde was on top he got turned so he was in the corner and got battered.
Decent fight though.

Bit of a scrap but Yarde was looking battered and tired towards the end. Did he hurt his jaw early on? He seemed to be fighting with his mouth open from the second round and of course he lost his gum shield twice.

The Yarde fight was quality. Shame he couldn’t quite get the job done but I think his reputation improved despite the loss. Apparently he was ahead on 2 cards at the time of the stoppage. Based on that performance Id be surprised if he doesn’t win a world title at some point.

Just watched it. Cracking fight. Only difference was experience. Yarde, like Joshua, only took up boxing at 18.

Beterbiev, like Usyk, really schooled through an excellent amateur system. That experience made a difference.

Not sure where Yarde goes from here. All the belts are held by the 2 Russians (not Russians). But I think Callum Smith fights Beterbiev next & Bivol may or may not fight Canelo again.

I'd love to see Yarde v Buatsi but different promoters will protect their own interests.

There’s some beasts in that division. Yarde could end up one of our best fighters to never win a belt. Hope not. He’s a good lad and a good boxer.

Yarde in defeat is everything that Wilder isn’t.
