Oh Benhrama, how many times does he beat his man, then stops and passes back to a player in the position he just beat his man from? Can't he cross a ball into the box with his left foot?

I get what you're saying, but sometimes you have to settle with what you have. After the 1st 5 mins I'd have bitten your hand off for a point. Team in CL places at their gaff....go all in and probably end up with sweet FA.Beavis Danzig wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 3:03 pm i think we can all agree that it was one of our best performances in a long time, but still we only managed a single shot on target from a set piece and ended the match with 37% of the ball.
we settled for a point after 50 minutes and started playing the mighty saudi barcodia instead of the team we'd bossed off the pitch for the previous 45. as a springboard to getting us out of the mire a point will do for now, but the teams around us are already getting snookers. we can't go steady as she goes picking up a draw here or there and put everything on the home 6 pointers, if we're looking like we have it in us to win a match we need to take advantage of that.
we need to turn our good performances into wins and our bad performances into ugly points. there's no-one unbeatable in the league this season as this weekend demonstrated.

Not many better than Benrahma in the league on the ball and dribbling.
If he had better decision making he wouldn't be at West Ham.

Yet people on here moan about the amount of aimless crosses into the box this seasonSouthminster Hammer wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 3:09 pm Oh Benhrama, how many times does he beat his man, then stops and passes back to a player in the position he just beat his man from? Match of the Day basically showed our goal and nothing else from us.
If you'd only seen the highlights it looked like Newcastle were robbed
Didn't even show our best chance of the game with Aguerd's header.

And the replay of their goal doesn't show the blatant foul on Antonio either.....weird how the media kicked off about their Saudi takeover but lap up their current league position etcBubbles Fortuna wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 3:14 pm Match of the Day basically showed our goal and nothing else from us.

Micky A back out on the left..Scamma when fit in Middle....Bowen right...or just use it as a front 3 moving around as and when,Uptonogood247 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 2:47 pm Hahaha....every thread turns into the Benni Brainfart Thread....hes not that bad and until Cornet recovers and actually proves himself, what are the other options?
Micky and Bowen swapping wings occassionally maybe.
Defenders don't like not knowing whats coming at them...we are so predictable in that respect...2 wide players that are gonna cut in
and usually have a dig,and a big CF /Targetman who's a*** they get up and usually stop playing.
Think DM was toying round with the Idea of Micky and Scamma together at times,Mickey more wider..but never really had the opportunity
to see it's potential.
Fornals is not a wide player, needs to be more central...Maybe Ben could be moved into the middle with Dec and Paq...more as a playmaker,
and running at defences centrally in a 4-3-3..
We've got good attacking players, but options that maybe we don't use imo.
Think we would have won yesterday playing the way we did with Scamma in for Ben.. not Micky.

With almost double the possession Newcastle managed a grand total of two shots on target.Beavis Danzig wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 3:03 pm i think we can all agree that it was one of our best performances in a long time, but still we only managed a single shot on target from a set piece and ended the match with 37% of the ball.

Re: ⚽ Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd: match thread
I don't think Newcastle were all that and couldn't live with us in the first half. We had our three world class starters all having their best game of the season simultaneously, they tried their hard press and we found our way out of it effortlessly, repeatedly exposing their centre backs.
In spite of all that we basically never worked their keeper or had anything like the chances Newcastle got in the second half. It's a weird inversion of early this season where we were mostly **** but still fashioned chances out of nothing.
If we had a prime Antonio or Arnautovic we'd win that game 3 or 4-1, players who just need a bit of space to exploit, but without them we don't have any defined patterns which turn our control of a game into opportunities.
Without Nayef's heroics we might have lost that game which would've been an absolutely robbery given the two teams' relative performances.
Yesterday showed how good our best players can be, but they can't do it all on their own.

They had a lot of possession in areas of the pitch where they couldn't hurt us. So no problem with them having more of the ball.Beavis Danzig wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 3:03 pm i think we can all agree that it was one of our best performances in a long time, but still we only managed a single shot on target from a set piece and ended the match with 37% of the ball.

Don’t think they were happy we didn’t follow the script and rollover after conceding early. Newcastle fast being added to their list of privileged clubs they fawn over.Bubbles Fortuna wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 3:14 pm Match of the Day basically showed our goal and nothing else from us.

Newcastle have the best defense in the league and were on a record breaking run of clean sheets.Beavis Danzig wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 4:10 pm I don't think Newcastle were all that and couldn't live with us in the first half. Not creating much against them is to be expected.

benrahma beats people for fun then forgets his team mates and just shoots, not a team player at all you can see why Moyes gets frustrated with him so much, its like bags of natural talent but not a lot upstairs, Antonio very similar , with time makes the wrong choice on just instinct can be brilliant, Rice is adding to his price tag on a weekly basis I do hope Real madrid or Barcalona come calling.

Re: ⚽ Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd: match thread
Very true and, whatever way you look at that fact, it remains very impressive.
I have however just had a look at the table and their ratio wins/matches is now just less than 50%. We ended up 6th two seasons back, by going all season on a 50% ratio.
Additionally, Spurs seem to be moving on an upwards trajectory, towards 4th place, despite conceding more than twice the Barcodes over one more game.
As such, I wonder whether NUFC can maintain that brilliant form and in fact go far enough to secure top 4. I got the feeling last night that they might struggle to do so. They have a well-functioning team, but only a few parts of it are 'special'. Still think we ought to have emerged with all three points.

The ten draws they've enjoyed proph are worth (more than) another three wins.prophet:marginal wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 6:41 pmI have however just had a look at the table and their ratio wins/matches is now just less than 50%.
