Re: Late David Gold, Sullivan and Brady
I watched Brighton in the week, saw a bit of Boro today and I’m now watching Burnley and I’m asking myself, will we ever appoint a young up and coming manager with a positive footballing attitude ?
Then I sit back slumped in my chair with my mug of tea and packet of custard creams realising that there’s hee haw chance of that happening and we will no doubt line up next year with either Moyes or Benitez.
It’s really quite a sobering thought. £850 or whatever it is I pay for a ST and I know from the minute I waken up on a Saturday what team we will pick and how we will set up.
I don’t believe that Sullivan will change his outlook and as suggested above, I’ve got no reason to believe that Kretinsky will be our knight in shining armour.
As much as I’m grateful for the European nights (and fingers crossed we have another next season), I’d just love to be entertained on a weekly basis.

Yep, as long as we scrape home in 17th Sully will feel justified in normal service continuing, the gravy train will roll on and he’ll be confident 50k of us will renew….. and if Kretinsky or whoever offers him a pile of cash it just gets better.

Being at the stadium today, all the staff are very confident that Sullivan is selling up soon and that Daniel Křetínský is buying both the club and the stadium
They think it will cost him £400million for the stadium alone

Re: Late David Gold, Sullivan and Brady
If this was correct and we were to stay up, that would effectively mean that Kretinsky had paid around £1bn for a PL club with a 60k stadium, a stones throw from central London. Based on other valuations flying around, that’s actually not a bad deal.
However, he would need very deep pockets as the stadium is going to need loads more spending on it and that’s not including the money that probably needs spending on Rush Green, the scouting network and academy.
How much is he worth ?

We have also done a bit of that ourselves in the past with Pardew, Zola and Bilic. You could also say the same for Bonds and Macari.

Our trouble is only 20% the managers, it's 80% having a succession of boards without a long term plan that is the problem & it has always been thus in the 40+ years I've been a supporter.
Championship at best level training/medical facilities, non existent scouting network, (even now it's rudimentary at best), no data analysis, the list goes on.
We are prehistoric in relation to our peers & it shows on the pitch & will only get worse unless something is done properly, not half assed, properly...
If we stay up, I'd rather us spend the whole transfer budget on the facilities & buy no one. Should Rice leave, the extra cash he earns can add heads where required.
Even with the leavers this summer, we still have a good core group & it gives us a chance to blood some of our youngsters due to necessity, just like the old days.
Forget the razzle dazzle for a year & get our ship in proper order.
Only on firm foundations will we grow.

This is quite interesting:
'The possible shut-down of the gas flows directly threatens Eustream, which is owned by Křetínský’s Energy and Industrial Holding (EPH) jointly with the Slovak state. If the Russian gas supplies were to be cut off entirely, Slovakia would lose hundreds of millions of euros every year. And Daniel Křetínský would lose the business that he built his entire empire on.'

EPH is split in half. The bit with Eustream and the other bit with all the generation in it. So if one fails then it doesn’t necessarily mean the other will. And the generation part will have made a lot of money in the last 18 months.

I’m getting Bond villain vibes with the Russian connections and the Royal Mail buy in. I think he even bought a casino!
