Being left with no viable solution to keep my 2 years and half old while working for home and having the best of the day. We prepared muffins, washed the windows and even enjoyed playing with water outside (yes, the weather is nice and warm here). And I missed no meeting and replied to all urgent emails.

I ran my own IT business from home from when my son was born, until he went to school.

It was fantastic, and (I hope none of them read this 🙈) has created a bond between him and I that I couldn't have possibly had with my other children.

Enjoy it, because it won't last forever. A most cerished time of my life.

It's the right move, isn't it?
Go for it Ron, I don't think you can pass it on to cows anyway

Hearing from DaveWHU1964 then DL on consecutive days - thanks , boys . :newthumb:

The lovely welcome-back from the good community of Kumb - thanks , boys . :newthumb:

Couldn't sleep last night again so at 1 am I crept downstairs , ten minutes later I was joined by Jen - I stuck old episodes of Mock The Week on in an attempt to distract us both - despite feeling anxious I laughed for the first time in days . I'm easily pleased .

Gaining a 'five' (out of 5) in my first appraisal in my one year old job. (Never had to go through a ranking process like this before - new to the private sector.) . Nice to get 'top marks'

It looks likes I have carved out a new role for myself and there 'should be' a decent pay rise attached (not got to that bit yet.. talking salaries is also something alien to me.)

However if they don't deliver I've gained enough confidence this year to take that and find someone who will (I hope they do though, really, really like my job.)

Had a West Ham dream last night and woke up with a smile on my face: We were in a final, last minute and drawing. We were playing in an abomination of a kit: think Newcsstle but with vertical claret stripes unstead of black * shudders *.
Corner kick on the left, We bring on a very old and fat Creswell who takes an outswinger that a West Ham head gets on the end of and buries just under the crossbar in the top right corner. Ref blows up. Bedlam ensues.

My first West ham dream for years, and we win a cup!

Taken me over 20 years in the workplace and a year in my experience has not changed. (I've hated pretty much every day of work up to that point in my life)

Not sure if this should be smile or sigh in relief.

We have finally resolved the issues with my parents' boiler. :scarfer:

These issues have resulted in me having to go round to reset or re-pressurise the boiler sometimes twice a day for the past six weeks

Initially it was identified as a leak in the system.
It turned out to be a loss of water through the pressure release valve, which was then determined to be a fault with the expansion vessel. This turned out to be wrong and the system was simply clogged up with sludge.
Today we finally had the system flushed and all now seems to good.

Wife’s made pancakes, a blue cheese quiche and stem ginger biscuits already this morning. The house smells delicious.
