Took a few hours, but Im hooked now. Has that Skyrim thing where you start doing something, get distracted by a shiny thing then remember what you were supposed to be doing 5 hours later...

Except it is much better than Skyrim because the quests actually have meaning, the story grips you, and the characters are great.

Witcher 3

Post by V-M »

Couldnt find an existing thread on this but its clearly a <95% game.

Ive downloaded the game of the year version and I have to say its immense. Just got my nuts in with the first sorcerer, and lively blonde witch with a lovely rack. So much to do here even if its just a friendly game of Gwent.

Im up to level 11, still getting my arse kicked when I wander off track though.

I finally finished this at the weekend V-M (main story, all side quests). I still only made Level 35.

I just bought it on the last PlayStation Sale. I think it was $11.
Never played the first two games (both PC only weren’t they?), so I wasn’t sure about diving in at game 3 but after watching the Netflix series I wanted to learn more about the characters and general universe.
I only know one guy who dislikes it and he lets me know every chance he gets.

I'm just taking my time, trying to do everything without rushing. I know the purpose of a game is to reach the end but I really dont want this to finish!

Still going and not even half way through despite playing it virtually every day. Very much like the Fallout series in that respect, just good to go exploring or do a few side quests here and there.

I wonder how many are tempted to replay an entire game just because it looks prettier and has a few minor updates?

It's not for me personally but I guess it must be a lure for many else there wouldn't be so many remakes around.

I've never played it but heard it was getting an upgrade and then see it on the PS store in a sale for a fiver so grabbed with this in mind. I only really play games once, I don't see the point of running through them again.

There is also talk of Red dead getting an upgrade, I would happily play through that again on next gen.

£12.49 on PS Store today so thought I’d give it a go as I’ve never played it.

Started at 10 and only got off at 4, think I’m going to really enjoy this!

I bought it on Steam for £7.49. Only got to the initial training combat bit but felt a bit clunky on my setup so haven't played it again.

Sounds like I'll have to give it a proper go.

How grindy we talking with this one? Or can I just follow the story and a few side quests to pretty much enjoy it how I want?

Yep. Though the side quests are mostly well worth doing.

I was tempted but already played through twice. We reread books don't we? Interested in exactly how much new content has been added. Very little? My second playthrough I also did the expansions. Blood and Wine was great.

I think besides prettier graphics and a new armour set or two there isn't much in the way of new content.

It was enough to get me to start a second playthrough though as I never finished off all the DLC content first time around. I can't imagine I'll do a third playthrough in future, I remember a fair amount of the quests and storyline from the first play from years ago.
