This is a weird one.
This 42 year old bloke, a married father of five, from Georgia flies to Baton Rouge in Louisiana for a business meeting for his construction company.
He goes to a college basketball game with a client then to an Irish Pub. At 10.30pm he's cut off for being drunk so leaves to walk back the 200 yards to his hotel.
His body was found 2 weeks later wrapped in plastic & rolled up in a carpet in an old abandoned garage a couple of miles away.
Police say no foul play is suspected. Apparently he was still out & about 6 hours later visiting other businesses (I'm guessing a strip club). Then there's surveillance video of him walking along with some random bloke who later used his credit card to withdraw money from an ATM.
His toxicology report came back & he OD'd from fentynal which was in the crack cocaine he was doing.
His wife still ain't happy & thinks the police ain't doing enough. In addition to arresting the drug dealer who supplied the drugs they have also arrested two prostitues who were with him.
In my mind, regardless of how crazy the Americans come across with their gun laws and the like, I'd still rather they were the 'supreme' power of the moment, wouldn't like this other block to become the dominant power. That's for sure.

The headline & the article seem to be at odds, or at least, stretching things a little.
The headline screams one thing. Then the article says that it's a group that meets once a year to discuss counter terrorism measures with a view to challenging Western influence in the region. Which is actually the same thing that Biden wants. And definitely what the MAGA crowd want.
Saying that, Chinas influence around the world has been growing for a couple of decades. While America is involved in an internal culture war the Chinese have been quietly 'buying' influence in Africa, Central & South America. How that affects the rest of the world, I have no idea, but I think they've already got a major foothold in the planets influence.
He's just got 42 years minimum, so they've pretty much done that.
No sympathy at all for him but how has he been convicted of murder? I thought he was trying to kill someone else and accidentally killed the young girl?

Shown no remorse for killing a young girl allbeit accidentally, the coward then refused to go to court for sentencing,**** him
He's ex girlfriend has now got to go into witness protection for giving evidence against him, so that's her and her families life ****ed up as well. It's not much of an incentive for future cases, put your life on the line for little reward with a life time of hiding and looking over your shoulder. You've gotta be proper scum to even think about going after her as punishment for dropping your ****y mate in it.
Hat's off to her for doing the right thing despite all that........

He did…but I assume it’s because he went out with the intention of murder…the fact the poor girl got caused in the crossfire doesn’t change that fact.

I understand what you are trying to say, but by saying he killed Olivia accidentally you really diminish what the Coward, who refused to attend Court, intention was at the time. He was intent on shooting another person, most probably he was attempting to kill his competition. The murderer chose his actions, because of the decisions he made an innocent nine year old girl was shot dead in her own home in front of her Mother.
Well done to the female that was prepared to give evidence against him. Well done Merseyside Police/ CPS with obtaining/ delivering the evidence which resulted in him being found guilty.
Only problem is some other scum will already have filled the void left by this coward.
The Sun earlier revealed how gangsters have put a £250,000 bounty on his head amid fears he will shop other criminals.
He is said to be "public enemy number one" inside Strangeways Prison in Manchester where he has spent the last few months.
Following his sentencing at Manchester Crown Court, where he refused to appear in the dock, he faces time in isolation to keep him away from those wanting to harm him.
.................
"There's fears he will grass to get an easier life in prison as an informer. And also there's people out for revenge.
"Not least Kirk Bradley [whose brother he is alleged to have killed]- who is influential - and has a lot of friends within the prison community.
"Cashman is a real target. The £250,000 bounty will entice people."
The bounty was believed to be circulated on the encrypted messaging app Telegram to organised criminals across the north west.
Hopefully he'll be a nervous wreck, constantly looking over his shoulder.

Child killers should be forced to listen to witness statements, preferably with matchsticks rottweilers keeping their eyes forced open.
