Time we looked at setting up a bogus account, pay for the tick and all. Could do with a cash injection about now.
It's easily done, mate. All you have to do is say that "they" are trying to destroy "our" country & you're the man or woman to defeat "them".
Throw in a few buzzwords. In the US they are currently Woke, Socialism, Gun Control, Jesus, and Bible.
Re the Trumpster.
I know it's a Piers Morgan interview but...
Apart from his stances on abortion, (illegal after 6 weeks), & allowing people to carry concealed weapons without a permit, (I know, totally mental, but 25 states already allow this apparently, (I was shocked too)).
Ron De Sanctimonious actually comes across as a sound enough chap.
I started off watching to confirm my preexisting dislike of what he stands for but somehow, came away with, well, he's a hell of a lot more palatable than a Trump or MTG clone.
I'm confused, make of it what you will...

Next to Piers Morgan anyone can seem like a decent chap.
Desantis is a petty man.

I always wondered how it was that empires ended up with petty or crazy leaders late on in their history, seems like I'm going to/ have been seeing this happen in my lifetime
Sorry to stray from the topic but as Dublin mentioned Ron Desantis it triggered my memory.
I was living in Florida in 2018 when Ron ran for Governor of Florida. He was strongly favoured to win but his opponent, Andrew Gillum - the black Mayor of Tallahassee - pushed him really close with the difference in the 8.2 million votes cast was just 0.4%, or 36,219 votes.
Many on the Left in Florida were heartened by this & thought Gillum would go on to bigger things but less than 18 months later he was found unconscious in a Miami hotel room, one of three men who were passed out on crystal meth. One of the blokes was a gay prostitute.
Then he got indicted for wire fraud & conspiracy for diverting money from his campaign (which I am pretty sure they all do), before finally coming out as bisexual.
There was a bit of an uproar during the 2018 campaign when Desantis used the term Monkey when talking about Gillums campaign although he didn't directly call Gillum that but it was big news for a week or two.
Yer man Gillum sounds like he'd be a fun president, he'd get my vote..!
On reflection, DiSantis is just too polished for my liking, kind of like a Netanyahu clone.
Both talk very well, but inside they're kinda rotten.
Trump light indeed...
Former US President Donald Trump will be charged over hush money payments made to a porn star just before the 2016 presidential election.
The details of the charges he will face have not yet been released.
A grand jury voted to indict him on criminal charges, after investigating a $130,000 pay-out to Stormy Daniels in an attempt to buy her silence over an alleged affair. He denies wrongdoing.
Mr Trump is the first serving or former US president to face charges.
He is also being investigated in several other cases.
Mr Trump's attorney, Susan Necheles, confirmed the indictment to CBS News, the BBC's US partner.
He is expected to surrender to authorities next week, a source told the Associated Press news agency.
The Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg - who has been pursuing the case - is expected to inform Mr Trump and his lawyers about the indictment shortly.
Mr Trump - who lives in Florida - will be required to appear in New York City for his formal arrest and first hearing in court.
He faces the prospect of having his fingerprints recorded and his mugshot taken, like all defendants in criminal cases.
In other news, popcorn sales forecast to go through the roof.

I think it will be fine Plashet as Gwyneth got off and got a $1 back with no legal costs.
I read a thing about Gwyneth today that said she used to have a different mobile phone for every person she was dating, including at one time Ben Affleck and Brad Pitt.

Any views from the posters in the States as to how likely this is to lead to civil unrest and more violence?
I was thinking about that.
Maybe not a repeat of January 6th but we might see a couple of mass shootings.
Some of his supporters are 100% in & fully believe the government/deep state is out for them & their guns. So why not go out in a blaze of glory by attacking a supermarket.
We'll see what rhetoric trump throws out in the next few days.
Wouldn't be at all surprised if that's a deep fake. It would save Trump, a billionaire, from actually having to effectively engage in what amounts to nothing more than begging.
