He means Moyes luck will run out.El brooko79 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 11:49 am How were we lucky against Everton?
We managed the game and were in complete control.
Conceding possesion in that situation was the right thing to do.
Not the case today.

Saving bets for Masters. That's a long list Walcott is on!neathiron wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 12:03 pm Just been doing a few bets online. I forgot that Walcott played for them. Isn't he one of those players who always seems to score against West Ham, regardless if he's playing crap at the time. Or am I imagining it. Moyes needs to be brave today and go for it. **** or bust time!

Not sure why so many people have this obsession (not saying you do!) with playing 2 up top.

That doesn't make sense. If we keep winning like if we do today, then we won't go down, irrespective of how negative or boring the tactics may be.

It is bizarre when our issue is an inability to create good chances.EastleighHammer16 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 12:13 pm Not sure why so many people have this obsession (not saying you do!) with playing 2 up top.
It also just means more long balls and crosses (assuming we can get the ball anywhere near the box)

Agreed. Not a single manager in the league plays 2 up top any more. That speaks volumesEastleighHammer16 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 12:13 pm Not sure why so many people have this obsession (not saying you do!) with playing 2 up top.

We should be dropping one of Benrahma or Bowen and playing one of Lanzini or Formals. Especially with Emerson and Coufal both fit.
Keeps the ball better and we look more creative.

It's like a theory that the more you play up front, the more likely you are to score goals.EastleighHammer16 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 12:13 pm Not sure why so many people have this obsession (not saying you do!) with playing 2 up top.
By that logic we may as well start six up front.
Games are largely won and lost in midfield these days, would be madness in my opinion to take anyone out of there.
Unless we just play hoofball from now on.

We should be dropping one of our joint top scorers against bottom of the league. Incredible.Danny's Dyer Acting wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 12:25 pm We should be dropping one of Benrahma or Bowen and playing one of Lanzini or Formals. Especially with Emerson and Coufal both fit.

Perhaps because we’re looking to play to our CF strengths?
Perhaps because we might then have 2 heads to aim our crosses to?
Perhaps because it looks to show an attacking intent?
Perhaps because it gives the CBs more than just one predictable thing to think about?
Perhaps because 1 up top hasn’t worked all season?
Plenty of reasons why you might want to give it a go - the current tactics aren’t working and others might want to see us at least try to stay up rather than accepting fate and having a permanent inferiority complex against everyone we play?
Just because everybody else only plays one up top, doesn’t mean that it suddenly becomes taboo and that we couldn’t try it
Edit: forgot to add - perhaps the 1 striker gets ****ing lonely and wants somebody to talk to?

Perhaps because it means we’re not playing with 10 men behind the ball?EastleighHammer16 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 12:13 pm Not sure why so many people have this obsession (not saying you do!) with playing 2 up top.

You can take the Bowen option then. Fine by me.
We keep the ball better, we can push up more as a team, we give ourselves more opportunity to create chances. It's not like plan a is being a roaring success?

I reckon one all today and another 2 points at home dropped.
A win would be brilliant.

what worries me is you dont play 1 up top because the midfield ends up getting overunmickthekeeper wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 12:33 pm Perhaps because it means we’re not playing with 10 men behind the ball?

So we sneak a win against the bottom club makes it all rosy in the garden, does it?For me CRN,we need a performance to give us the confidence for the rest of the season.Colours never run wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 12:19 pm That doesn't make sense. I don’t really care this week. If we can **** house our way to three 1-0 wins in a row then so be it.
