I disagree Bonzo. Of course this is political. Also, strikers are exactly the same as these idiots. Targeting the public who are just trying to get on with their lives.bonzosbeard wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 8:38 pm People standing up for their work rights are not the same as these idiots. Poor darts Macca for comparing the two.
And this isn't the page for politics. You've rightly called me out on that before.

Absolutely no-one got hurt.
Play will continue.
They are not seeking neither money nor power.
At least they haven't destroyed work of art or the like.

Re: Snooker: here we go again
It's a snooker thread, no strikers got involved in the game. You brought them into it.
I have put a reply in the strikes thread.

Re: Snooker: here we go again
Just a quick one on snooker podcasts.
For anyone interested, there's a new official WST podcast called Snooker Club, hosted by Stephen Hendry and comedian Mark Watson. An enjoyable first episode, I thought, although fairly 'safe'.
Other options are Snooker Scene and Talking Snooker, both of which are enthusiastic and detailed, if sometimes a little plodding. I prefer the latter hosted by Nick Metcalfe and Phil Haigh over Dave Hendon's Snooker Scene, but there's not much in it. There have been some good longform interviews with players on these.
Then, if you're a Shaun Murphy fan, there's the onefourseven podcast. I am not a Shaun Murphy fan.

Wandered along to the evening semifinal between Ding and Trump in the UK championship yesterday. An entertaining match.

He's good at snooker, that O'Sullivan chap. If he sticks at it, he could have quite the career.

Not a fan of the shootout Snooker tournament, hate it in fact. But Shaun Murphy earlier today completed the first ever 147 maximum break in it.
That is some achievement when you take into consideration the shot clock and loud fans.
Well done Shaun.

Just how dry is it going to be when he finally retires?dasnutnock3 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 7:31 am He's good at snooker, that O'Sullivan chap. If he sticks at it, he could have quite the career.
Some random Chinese player whose name I can't say vs Shaun "Gastric Band" Murphy.
No thanks.
Wouldn't be surprised once he's gone if it spells the end of snooker in the UK. The Chinese tournaments already offer way more cash and without O'Sullivan as the Western draw, who else is there?
Trump is exciting and consistent but there's no personality or edge to him

Yeah when Ronnie hangs up his chalk, I can’t imagine I’ll have much of an interest in it any more. As you say, Trump has the skills, but is barely there as a person. And his hair is ludicrous.

Re: Snooker: here we go again
I'll always love watching snooker, but there's never been anyone like Ronnie. Watching him on a break is just breathtaking at times, such a natural, instinctive talent, like watching a concert pianist or something.
I expect and hope more tournaments do go to China, but I love the Chinese players and think that a lot of them along with the next wave of UK players (Stan Moody, Liam Graham, Liam Pullen) will be the future.
