Re: Motorcycle racing
What Sam, and Dixon for that matter, needs now is consistency.
Unfortunately for Lowes, he is sharing track with possibly the biggest talent of his generation (Acosta) and another very talented lad (Arbolino) who has something to prove.
And how about them KTMs, eh!
Binder and Miller had an absolute mega weekend in Jerez, as the guys would've said

Re: Motorcycle racing
Last nights opening Supersport race at the NW200 meeting was great.
last few corners only on this link but worth watching the whole race cos it was to and fro for all 6 laps.

Looking forward to a full days racing tomorrow

Re: Motorcycle racing
It was insane!
This season has been a crashfest like no other
A war of attrition, even if the calendar is more than twice the size of last season.....

Michael Dunlop, new unofficial lap record of 16 mins 42.189 on the 37.7 mile Mountain Course during TT qualifying, ( 135.531 mph average speed ). Maria Costello suffered minor concussion after crashing her sidecar earlier in the week and Matt Stevenson broke a leg the same day. Currently more likely to suffer injury as a ref in a Euro cup final than as a pure road racer

Re: Motorcycle racing
I watched the Moto GP from Mugello today. They're insane (although MGP riders think TTers are insane!), at the end of the long straight they brake from 220mph to 55mph before taking a right hander scraping their shoulder on the ground

Re: Motorcycle racing
Was at Mugello last weekend, and to see them tuck in and and try to catch a slipstream going 220 mph/ 350 km, straight into San Donato (turn 1) is insane!
Trying to force their way through at Borgo San Lorenzo (turn 4/5) is also quite something.
Watching the race live, I got a few glimpses of the pre-race preparation that you don't see on TV.
The riders don't use their engines to get to their grid position, instead relying on a mechanic to push them there, as they coast forward.
All the mechanics, from all the teams always greet each other rather, have a friendly chat and enjoy each others company.
Sportsmanship as it should be.

Paul Bird has died.

No mention of cause of death but given his " lifestyle" I wouldn't be surprised if it was heart related.

Re: Motorcycle racing
How the hell did Bagnaia not suffer more serious injuries than that?
A Moto GP bike riding full over his legs? I had to look away when I saw that, thought his season was done. Lucky boy.

Re: Motorcycle racing
Bagnaia was extremely lucky. One theory of why it went so well, was that Brad hit his boot at the part where you have some extra stiffness, due to it being at the top end of the boot.
Bastianini was very unlucky. He made a mistake but now has everything to do in order to keep his place at the factory team.
What happened in Brazil, to those poor young kids though... Poor souls. May they rest in peace.

Re: Motorcycle racing
Both Bez and Pecco were back on their bikes again, and both were on the podium, only days after those horrible accidents.
Motorcycle riders are a different breed
MotoGP & Moto3 championships hotting up again, the English one, Moto2, is looking out of reach for both Dixon and Lowes. Acosta is on another level.

Re: Motorcycle racing
The Martinator turning up the pressure on Bagnaia, the fly-aways will be very interesting this season.
Can a non-Factory rider with the world championship?

Re: Motorcycle racing
The Toprak Razgatlioglu vs Alvaro Bautista fight on the second day of the Portimao WSBK was an epic battle.
Haven't seen so many overtakes at the front before. An instant classic of a race

Re: Motorcycle racing
Team mates Bridewell & Irwin scrap rumbles on in BSB after Tommy took Glenn out in race 2 at Donington yesterday.
Meanwhile Kyle Ryde and Leon Haslam are sneaking up on them.
Looking forward to the final races at Brands this weekend where extra points are on offer
