FC Hollywood = Champions on goal difference!
For everything German football gets right - fan ownership, atmosphere, stadiums - having one single club win the title for 11 consecutive years points to competitiveness issues. They'e getting something wrong if one club can be so dominant year after year, a real turn off.

That dude was in a Koln shirt.
Sad to say Dortmund were really terrible there and barely deserving of a draw. Their decision-making around the box in particular made us look like Brazil 1970 or something.

I find the average game to be good to watch too, as much as our over hyped PL games. Don't know how Bayern's financial dominance gets challenged though really.Junco Partner wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 4:35 pm FC Hollywood = Champions on goal difference!

Dortmund looked leggy and awful. So slow.
Boring that Bayern win again. A very dull league when it comes to competitiveness.

The title of this thread should be changed to, Borussia Dortmund (Spurs-ish).

Bayern Munich winning the title 11 years in a row is a joke. Even the Scottish league is more competitive ffs.

Re: Borussia Dortmund (West Ham-ish)
Yeah it's getting silly in Germany isn't it. I watched the Dortmund game and they only have themselves to blame. Bellingham was injured and I genuinely believe had he played today they would have won the game and the league.
On Scottish football: I just had a look at the final table. Other than the Old Firm only two teams finished with a positive GD, Hearts on +6 and Motherwell on +1.
Celtic's was +80 and Rangers +56.
The team in 3rd, Aberdeen, finished with a GD of -4
Pointless, really.

Yeah at least the PL is competitive...Wait a minute, haven't City won the PL 5 times in the last 6 years, averaging roughly 90 points a season?Junco Partner wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 4:35 pm FC Hollywood = Champions on goal difference!

Re: Borussia Dortmund (West Ham-ish)
I hear what you're saying and that is the case. However the Premier League is still competitive (and certainly more so than the Bundesliga) with Clubs still able to run Man City close to the title in Liverpool and Leicesters case winning it. It should have been Arsenal too this season had they not spectacularly choked the way that they did. Then there was Liverpool losing out by 1 point and 6 goals last season, same as they did 5 seasons ago. Then there was Chelsea twice and Man Utd who won the League in the same 11 year period.
If managed right another Club can beat Man City to the title even with Guardiola in charge who won't be there forever, although it will be very difficult to achieve. 11 straight wins for Bayern in the Bundesliga just doesn't compare.

Re: Borussia Dortmund (West Ham-ish)
And the worst is, it was suspense till the 90th minute just because Bayern had an awful season with Kahn + Salihamidzic being fired right after the final whistle.
All the 10 season before Bayern have be crowned champions way before the final match already.

So the German Gunners choke like their English counterparts, and their equivalent of state owned Man City scoop their 11th consecutive title.

Re: Borussia Dortmund (West Ham-ish)
Not the best of Seb Haller yesterday. Not only to take away the ball out of the hands of designated penalty-taker Emre Can, but then produced such a god-awful penalty at a crucial moment in the game.
