Re: The new kits thread
To be fair to umbro, they tried something different this year and the vast majority hate it. As they would have done if we had the Burnley shirt.

I like it.
Less is more, and if it had white shorts it would be even better.

A different collar would have helped it too. As is it looks like something a little kid would wear to pre school.

Re: The new kits thread
That's because they've half arsed it. Tiny bit of detailing - not enough.
They either need to go simple and smart, like the last year at the Boleyn, or commit to different like in 09/10.
And I really dislike the extended blue up to the collar. It's shirt sleeves. If I wanted a claret and blue raglan shirt I'd go to bloody Matalan or something.
Umbro would do better to give us a Teamwear template.

Make that pattern across the top half blue.

Both better than the supposed shirt for next season.

Take it you're no fan of the 82 shirt then as many feel that's our best ever.YorksHammer wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 11:09 pm That's because they've half arsed it. Tiny bit of detailing - not enough.

Re: The new kits thread
Evening . Can anyone point me in direction of a site selling the third kit? No longer on website
Re: The new kits thread
Spot on. Whatever is wrong with a plain claret body and blue sleeves. I fail to get the need for all this “detailing”. End of the day it should be a football shirt not a fashion item. Plenty of scope in club T shirts or training tops for all that malarkey.

Re: The new kits thread
when is the new shirt due out ? no doubt it will be £70 which means I will have to wait a few months for it to drop below £50

Re: The new kits thread
Not really, no. I think the kit we had before that, with the blue triangle on the chest, is great. I think the 85 home shirt with the thin blue stripes is our best (and think Adidias did a good job updating that in 2014).lukechadwick wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 11:42 pm Take it you're no fan of the 82 shirt then as many feel that's our best ever.

Re: The new kits thread
People just love to complain.
If they do a simple kit it's boring, if they try something new it's hideous and why are they going against tradition, if they do something traditional people will complain about what shorts and socks pair with it.
And... for all the complaining they still sell about the same. If anything I'd like to see them just make the 3rd kit a fashion kit, go hunting the streetwear market, why not, people will complain anyway might as well do something fun and maybe sell more.

Away kit is the most bizarre one i've seen this season, I don't get it or the inspiration. 3rd kit looks a bit like a Liverpool change strip.

That away kit is absolutely excellent. Smart, clean, using the history of their late 1800s shirts in the main colour. Perfect work.cockney hammer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 8:20 pm https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk ... t-27026463

The Black and White striped one? I did some research but still don't see where it's come from?YorksHammer wrote: ↑Fri Jun 02, 2023 9:00 am That away kit is absolutely excellent. Smart, clean, using the history of their late 1800s shirts in the main colour. Perfect work.

Edit: Just read it's allegedly a shade of dark green.

Stoke releasing a sponsorless version of their shirt now too.
Looks very nice.
