Chalk another one to the list of terrible Moyes signings then. Signed a guy who he can't work with to get the best out of despite his teammates recognising his quality. Good stuff.
Or a sicknote who has gone crying to mummy after a tough season.
See Paqueta for how a real talent works through a situation like that.

The good thing is that once we have sold him we can buy another expensive forward that will disappoint for us next season.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results
Our Striker search is turning into that scene from Beetlejuice where the next Striker coming in has the long number waiting to be seen at Sullivans mansion..
Antonio clearly states in his podcast that Moyes had bought Scamacca to change the way we play. Unfortunately that had to be binned off as Moysie couldn't get us to do this effectively.
This meant that Scamacca was redundant as soon as the switch to plan B was executed.
I only see Scamacca staying if Moyes goes and we get a progressive manager in.

Plan B was executed as Scamacca couldn't train with the team properly from mid January and the potential sale of Antonio was delayed at least until the end of this season despite a decent offer from first Wolves and later Chelsea. The right decision.
Scamacca is back in Italy now for the next stage of his rehab in Rome (getting fit for his next club).

I'm sorry but I'm believing Antonio's word over yours.
Scamacca has missed half a season through illness and injury.
It's no one's fault that we didn't see the best of him, he started our last ten before the world cup and we were starting to see glimpses of what he a Paqueta would offer.
Unfortunate he dinged up his knee and we've not seen him since so it was back to the old tried and trusted and we pulled ourselves out of trouble.

Exactly that.
11th in the table since the end of January. Balanced on points. -1 goal difference. And a final in Europe. Solid.

It was evident to me when Scamacca was fit enough to play, Moyes struggled to utilise Scamacca. All you could really see was flashes of brilliance from the Player out of the blue but not because the general play was bringing the best out of him. You'd see him struggle to get to grips with playing in a counter attacking Team that often sat deep and he'd be isolated for long periods looking lost.
What's so frustrating about this (like it also was with Haller) is the player is of genuine quality, it's just that we're making a right hash of bringing the best out of him. And to allow him to leave so soon without trying to make it work after all the expense and contract given to him, it seems yet another sorry waste.
Maybe it's not these quality Strikers that keep arriving that are the problem but the way that we are playing them? And that doesn't have to mean Moyes must go but it does mean Moyes has to find a way of adapting so to get the best out of them.
