That was shortly before we started giving it all back to the locals of course. There was a big kick arse globe in a cabinet at the side of the classroom and the parts of the world in the empire were coloured pink.

There was a hell of a lot of pink on that globe.
That’s because most everything was made pre war back then mind. It showed us what the Empire once was, not what it still was even if it reflected the Commonwealth. In my 60s school in Barking even though the Empire was hardly overtly criticised, equally it wasn’t glorified either, looking back I try to think if I am re imagining that, yes there was some massaging but I am in fact quite surprised that it was beginning to be re assessed and guilt emerging even then. Very different to the overt hatred of everything German and Japanese that some fan idiots seem to be unable to modify even today.

p.s. not a dig at you but was kind of hoping your intelligent guess of a date of a takeover would come true. Still time I guess.
Let’s be honest it would not take place till after the final with a few days grace so that Sullivan can soak up the adulation of the fan base and there’s time for the design of his statue to be signed off.
One can dream.

Me -although I thought it would be done by the end of May.

I still reckon it is imminent.

I wonder if there maybe something linked to if we are in a European competition or not, like a performance bonus.

do you think it MIGHT have been different if we didn't have the final next week ?

after all DK did pull his options when it looked like we might drop to the Fizzy so maybe he wants to allow the present mob to take all the credit if we win the whole thing ?

and also perhaps what Jacob has printed might influence DK to bin off DM and hire a new bloke ?

ECL final 7th June
Transfer window opens on the 10th June

Kretinsky will likely want to jump in and take over the per strings before the window opens

DS is making plans for the transfer window, so wouldn’t be too excited about him leaving. Sorry to piddle on the porridge.

Honestly no idea. It’d be an easier decision if we lost the Final than if we won it though…

The board was brave by not sacking him earlier in the season and they made the right decision, it would be bonkers to sack him now

I refuse to believe Sullivan ever buggering off until I actually see it. He’s too much of a control freak.

To be fair, I’m not entirely convinced with Kretinsky anyway. The amount of managers he’s sacked at his other club hasn’t exactly filled me with much confidence. Sparta Prague haven’t even won that many league titles under his watch in what is a 2 team league.

Hope he proves me wrong if he does takeover though.
