Sparks on the Park stage seems a recipe for disaster. The Other Stage is quite a big capcaity.Junco Partner wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2023 11:42 am Surprised at Manic Street Preachers being 3rd bill on the 2nd stage. That will pull a big crowd.
Some of my happiest music memories are from attending a few of these back in the 90's man, one before the fence went up and nostalgia always has me tuning in from the comfort of my sofa over the weekend and texting mates who are also veterans about how great it would be to go one more time....then we sober up
BBC's coverage is excellent

Radiohead 2017, on the television, was practically a religious experience.Chicken Run Supreme wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 7:55 am Their coverage is superb and you have the benefit of being able to see all the sets you want to.
Highlights for me of the recent past would be Springsteen, Foo Fighters, The Cure and Paul McCartney. Elton John has some big boots to fill after Macca’s barnstormer last year.
I was gob-smacked by it.

Re: Glastonbury 2023
So far today: Liked Maisie Peters on the Pyramid stage, loved Los Bitchos on the Park stage and I'm currently loving Ak Dan Gwang Chil (ADG7) on the West Holts stage.
Hoping to catch as much as I can across the weekend.

Yeah, that was great. Acade Fire in 2014 was equally awesome too.prophet:marginal wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 9:27 pm Radiohead 2017, on the television, was practically a religious experience.

Billy Nomates on the Park stage is pretty good. She might be a grower for me, too. Cracking voice and a real performer. Had a quick go at Digga D on the Woodsies stage but didn't enormously rate him.
ADG7 the highlight so far, Los Bitchos very close second.

ADG7 get better with every song. It's proper epic music.

Not particularly bothered by Texas (Pyramid) or Carly Rae Jepsen (Other), but quite liking Pale Waves on the Woodsies stage presently, although the lead singer likes yelping while she sings a little more often than I'd care to tolerate . Enjoyed Stefflon Don earlier as well.

Currently watching Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
I saw these at a gig a few years ago and they were very 'meh'. Nothing's changed. The music is OK, quite good even, but they have zero personality or stage presence.
It's like watching 'Farrow & Ball' paint dry.

Keen to see who's behind this Churn Ups moniker but, at the same time, don't intend missing The Comet is Coming on the Park stage at the same time.Chicken Run Supreme wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 4:52 pm Foo Fighters rumoured to be on Pyramid Stage under the name of The Churn Ups

Mrs.caress is enjoying Krept & Konan, can't say I am. It's not awful, but it's a long way from good. Merely IMHO of course.

Re: Glastonbury 2023
The Comet is Coming are killing their set on the Park stage. They're making me want to kick my own front room to pieces, in the good way.
