Re: Jesse Lingard
We've a lot to thank him for.
If he hadn't scored that 90th minute winner for Man Utd against us in 21/22, then we would have finished 6th and played in the Europa League this season.
As it was, we finished 7th and entered the Conference League.
Cheers Jesse, me 'ol mucker.

The true purpose of his assist for the winner against us for Forest will all become clear soon.

Re: Jesse Lingard
The man's an enigma.
I suspect his man child persona is hiding a troubled soul. He was brilliant for us. Very intelligent on the field. Made us tick.
Thanks for the memories. It was a joy in a very difficult time (pandemic).

I see on the news this morning he has jetted on holiday with his mates and posting selfies as we speak.

Re: Jesse Lingard
Looks like he's touting for a move to Saudi. So much for wanting to be closer to his family.

One of the more disingenuous things I've read this week.Jesse Lingard wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 11:47 am 'Saudi Arabia are doing big things, and in the next couple of years or so, it will be one of the hotspots to go to.
'I'm not really surprised that the big names are moving out there. Like I say, they're doing big things and it's something I would consider as well – I've not ruled that out either.
'It's got to be right for me at the end of the day. I've got to go on my gut feeling but I'm still hungry and striving for success.'
Translates to 'Hey...Hey! Saudi! Remember me!? I'm still playing and I haven't had a single offer from a club...'

Well, if still has a "social media presence" (I'm a **** for even using that phrase in " "), then he's actually exactly what they look for. They want PR for their country, they want sports washing. He ticks the boxes. Just like C Ronaldo does or Messi as an Ambassador for the country. They don't care if you're a good player too, that's a bonus if anything.
The Neves one is a rather strange one in that light.

Re: Jesse Lingard
Fork in the road last year and he chose cash avenue over glory road. I was annoyed he did that as he was fantastic for us. The problem is once a player psychologically semi retires I think it’s hard for them to come back to the front line of being a top prem performer.
Seemingly it’s America or Far East for Jesse now. With that being said, I’m not sure he is the draw he was a year ago and I think the MLS is not entirely the retirement home it once was.

You lot do realise this manchild now has almost 100 pages more than the Pablitooooo thread..
What is the obsession with him? He had one good season with us leave it there and let this thread die a peaceful death..

Re: Jesse Lingard
He's like a lover who spurned us. For closure, we almost need to sign him again, only this time he has the same same impact he had up at Nottingham Forest, rather than the snapshot of brilliance with us.
But the ship has sailed. I agreed with him taking his last chance at Man U, totally disagreed with picking Forest over us, and now he is spitballing the idea of Saudi Arabia. If SA is where he wants to go, then we should steer very clear indeed.

Re: Jesse Lingard
Talking of obsession, and contradicting myself slightly, but would you put it past Moyes going in for him again?
I’m not sure Moyes can quit him
