Disgusting what is happening, the FA should be able to take charge, ruining the players and staff, then heart breaking for the fans, always amazed he has never been attacked etc as his attitude is horrific and I feel for them loyal fans having to do well with that

My cousin's son Jack Bridge is Southend's best player
Hi
Is jack Bridge any relation to Jackie and Ronnie Bridge who used to play for Southend in the 1950s?.
I knew the family and went to a lot of their Christmas parties in Great Wakering.

Poor old Southend, even if I’ve about as much desire to watch them as I do to ever eat in that town centres Wimpy again, I love and will always love anything to do with the place.

Was at York City v. Southend United last October. Their supporters made a lot of noise - some begger had a drum!
Anyway, they have a £2 million funding gap per annum apparently so no surprise that they keep running out of money.

Non WHU: Ray Winstone & Southend Utd
I couldn't see anywhere else to.post this. Apologies if in wrong place but as Southend is often termed West Ham on Sea and it involves dear old Ray Winstone I thought it may be of interest.
As a Southend lad I'll be chuffed to bits as we may get a few WHU youngsters every now and again.
Ray Winstone involved in Southend United buy out with wealthy backers. The Shrimpers have been run into the ground by the chairman who.is in the high Court more than at Roots Hall.
latter, the favourites are a group led by Kristofer Tremaine and Simon Jackson, respectively the chief executive and chief financial officer of Kimura Capital, a London-brd hedge fund that specialises in commodity markets.
Six years after launching that business in 2013, the pair moved into sports, esports, media and marketing with the creation of Kimura Performance and a motorsport division called Kimura Racing.
The connection with Winstone was forged last year when Tremaine joined the board of Integral Sports Management, an agency co-founded by Winstone and former broker Gary Pettit in 2019.
The group, who are being advised by football finance veteran Laurie Pinto, have long-established links with Southend, a seaside resort on the north side of the Thames Estuary that was granted city status in 2021.
For example, Kimura Capital sponsored a charity event at the club’s Roots Hall stadium last weekend and ex-Crystal Palace, Hull and Leicester manager Peter Taylor, one of the club’s most famous former players and managers, is involved with Kimura Performance.

I thought that had all been sorted when the previous owner sold up. But it won't happen. Someone always rides over the hill waving wads of cash at the last minute, don't they ?

Re: Southend United Winding Up Meeting (Non WHU)
I’m pretty sure I played as Southend in Championship Manager in the early 00s and it was tough as they were so skint!
Re: Southend United Winding Up Meeting (Non WHU)
Despite the fact they don't like us, I feel for their fans.
I really think this might be it...I think the judge gave them some time last time around because it looked like a takeover was imminent.
They have 9 days before they're in court again.

And another 42 days, although the NL may not accept this if wages aren't being paid

What piqued my interest here in Chris Phillips' latest piece were the efforts undertaken by clubs such as York to support Southend.

Re: Southend United Winding Up Meeting (Non WHU)
Staff not getting paid is awful especially in these tough times. I saw a photo on twitter that looks like even the groundsman has almost given up. I think they've cancelled 2 pre season friendlies, have only 14 players and they have a transfer embargo. Even if they do get taken over, would it be in time to convince the national league to let them stay in the league?Up the Junction wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 12:41 am https://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/23659 ... s-survive/
