I genuinely think there's every chance we finish above Arsenal next season.

It would be a dreadful choice of club for him. Far too good for them.

I’d never go as far to say too good, but more like he’s selling himself very, very short. Leeds then found themselves financially compromised and suppose they were at the start of trying to stave off financial collapse so selling him was a no brainier. Arsenal for some reason still see themselves up there as one of the top leading lights in world football and they just aren’t, nowhere near. They could ruin him if they win nothing soon, but they won’t be able to admit that he’s better off elsewhere. I genuinely believe it’s the worst club choice aside from Spurs, who would also act in a similar manner.

If I were Sullivan, I’d be offering him £250k a week for the next 3/4 years and saying: we’re building the team around you, you’re still young and we’ll match your ambition to fight for trophies.

By sadly I think Dec loves the club but doesn’t trust it to go in the direction he wants to. It’s about how the club is run, and what’s possible. Otherwise Arsenal would be a side step, but Arsenal have a plan, facilities and momentum we can’t match at the moment. That’s why it’s a step up.

When he leaves us the only club where he will be nailed on for trophies in the prem is city.
