Re: Proposed fanzone for ECL final
Had a great night at Colour Factory, it was very busy but not stupidly so. Decent size screens and a great atmosphere.
But why did they decide to stop serving at 10:30pm? Surely as a nightclub it has a late licence? The place emptied out pretty quickly, I'm sure they could have taken more money had they kept the bars open. Thank god for the Lord Napier who let us in without too much of a fuss so we could carry on drinking.

Great to hear it was so good. When the shuttle bus dropped us off at mi day we had a quick look and it just felt like a muddy car park tbh.hawkins_hammer wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 11:45 am How good was the fanzone in Prague?
Glastonbury meets Oktoberfest meets West Ham.
Think I had more fun there than many games I've been to - never queueing for a beer and the weather helped too.
When Bowen's goal went in it was pandemonium. Watching on the big screen, we could all see he was onside and that we'd done it.![]()

Weather certainly helped with the fanzone, we saw a few photos and decided to swerve it but I’m delighted the sun came out and people are reporting how great the service was and set up.
Ironworks event was mustard too. I’ve seen videos of bars in Prague to all the venues in England going off. Would be great to see a general compilation of all of the celebrations.

Another doff of the cap for the fanzone.
Apart from the climb to get there (300 odd steps?), the whole set up was top notch.

I'm pretty sure the stairs were either to give you a heart attack on the way up or fall and broken leg on the way down!Patsy Belgium wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 11:57 am Apart from that f***ing twat of a DJ a great day all round
In the park even enjoyed Chesney ffs but keep it under your hat.
F***ing stairs up to the park were a killer though in the sun
I have loads of vids and photos from the fan zone but can't work out how to upload the bloody things!

How was the Orbit shindig at £38?
Haven't seen much written about it.

Our tickets were £17.50 each
In fairness, it was a good location. But the organisation from the off was just dogshit. 90mins for a beer, then they ran out of beer completely, had to wait an age for the barrels to be changed, 3 bar staff, one pulled a 'migraine', then she came back, security let people jump the line......it was endless.
Had it not been for the result, I'd be tempted to torch the ****ing place!!

Locals did their best to sort the water out to be fair. Had guys going around with water vacuums and stones to deal with the worst areas.Ilford Paolo wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 9:46 am Great to hear it was so good. When the shuttle bus dropped us off at mi day we had a quick look and it just felt like a muddy car park tbh.

Family zone was good to be fair, only real complaint is they should have of have food in that zone but was alright to get drinks without too much problem and got 2 pints at a time each anyway.westham, eggyandchips wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 2:32 pm Our tickets were £17.50 each

Apart from a couple of idiots having to be told to get out the way of the screen a few times (the same group) it was decent enough in the short time they had to put it together.
Not really any excuse for the club not to have used to space to organise something though.
Had a great time at the parade as well

Were you with a dark haired guy in our '80 FA cup final shirt? He was at the front near us around 18:00, already totally tanked, gave a pep talk about singing to get an atmosphere going, and I didn't see him after about 19:45.bracknellhammer wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 5:40 pm Hackney Bridge was brilliant!! Another +1 for Hackney bridge.
Got there early, and all the atmosphere was across the water which worried me at first, but after it filled up at kick off, it was super. Very quick to get beer, and couldn't fault the limbs.
Only issue I had was how quick we were turfed out, but we just headed for outside the stadium/Orbit to continue for another hour or so.

Cheers for this. Went to the Central Bar on Ann St, had a great night, locals were couldn't have been more hospitable. If last week is anything to go by, Northern Ireland has moved forward in the last twenty years.Junco Partner wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 9:56 pm Love the username![]()
Ballycastle is a sedate little seaside town with a high street jammed with pubs so I don't see any issue getting to see it on the telly.
A West Ham fan cheering on West Ham in a European final will be met with curiosity, mild enthusiasm and a little pity. The pubs will be largely empty as it's not Man Utd or Liverpool playing so no issue getting a good seat. The only games that warrant caution like you suggest in NI are the Glasgow's Old Firm bigot-fest and Man Utd v Liverpool, internationals involving NI, RoI or England can be sensitive also, but a middling PL team in the final of Europe's third competition is not on the same scale. Obviously means a lot more to you & me, but for Ballycastle...not so much.
Just don't stand for GSTQ and avoid any discussion on Declan Rice's "Irishness" and you'll be grand![]()

Re: Proposed fanzone for ECL final
It's dedication to travel to Prague without a match ticket so I'm really glad the fan park in Prague was such a success. I saw the number of steps up when I was on a river cruise so fair play to all that made the trek! Sounds like it was well worth the effort.
