I think they’ll figure out a way to go far. Kroos and Gundogan still some of the best in the world ATM but been heavily criticised for their Germany performances in the past

Portugal again have an unbelievable squad on paper. Aside from CB they have good depth everywhere. They often struggle to get the balance right though, can Bobby Brown Shoes improve them?

France have to be favourites over England and I won’t hear otherwise. Just as good a squad but importantly have proven themselves more in the last 8 years. Also have the proven big game winners unlike England’s star’s who have underperformed so far
I've been thinking the same about Germany. Weren't they held 0-0 by Ukraine recently ? Home teams often excel in major tournaments.

Great atmosphere already here in Dusseldorf, with several hundred Scots already in full voice. Expecting several thousand here. Lot of English around as well.

Should be a great opener tonight, with Germany habing to proof early if they are ready for the tournament. Should be a physical test.

For those who prefer to fill in their own chart:

Or watch the whole shebang unfold without having to scroll or put up with slow-loading websites.

Just backed Portugal to win outright. Looked at the others no real standouts for me.

There's a short documentary about Rooney on the iPlayer covering Euro 2004. Worth a watch.

I think individual performances will see us through the groups but we won’t play with any cohesion and will play two knockout games.

For those of you that consider yourselves football tacticians, what would be the best England team WITHOUT Harry Kane in the starting 11?

Would you replace him with another out & out striker like Toney or Watkins or would you play the False Whatever & bring in a Palmer, Bowen, Eze or similar & keep the opposition guessing?

Thanks for any that bother to respond...
