The numbers represent the gaps in months between his last three appearances.
Quite clever really.

We all know about Zouma....so yeah... :winker:

But just for a bit of calm.

Nothing unusual in the ice pack thing on both the knees. Loads do it.....you don't often see it because it will done in the dressing room.

Seen Ronaldo do it....amongst at least a dozen I could name off the top of my head. ..(both knees)

In Zoumas case would be bloody mad not to do it. It's a precaution....a preventative measure, to minimise inflammation.

With Zouma it means he can still walk afterwards..just.... :coolas:

My worry for Zouma isn't how he performs next season, I'm sure he'll give us 100% of whatever he has left every game. Whether that will be good enough, who knows.
My fear is that he'll end up like poor Paul McGrath, (without the drinking obviously). Crippled at an early age & spending the rest of his days under the knife, operation after operation just so he can play with his kids.
No way to live, health far more important than wealth.

Ward-Prowse for me was the standout player and delivered a captain’s performance. Think my prediction of him being a key player for Jules is looking likely if how he’s been utilised in the first couple of friendlies is anything to go by.

Kilman is looking the centre half we hoped Aguerd would be, if Nathan grew a pair of b*llocks. He’s going to be an important player in the defence and attack.

Potts had another good game, although you can’t help but think his slip up at the beginning of the game could throw doubt into Jules’ mind when it comes to trusting him for the first team squad next season, as that mistake could easily have been punished at Premier League level.

Orford, neat and tidy. Sadly he made one mistake too. Otherwise he was fine.

Casey actually did alright at RB.

Thought Dinos did a lot better on the ball this time than he did previously.

Kudus was just Kudus when he came on. He is ridiculously good when he’s on it.

Great finish by Irving for the goal. But like the youngsters the real test now will be how they cope in the US against Premier League opposition. I think that’ll help Jules make his final decision on some of them. However, an assist and a goal in his first 2 games, and both were of good quality too, you can’t have too many complaints.

We’ve pretty much seen a bit of a variation between a 4-3-3 and 4-1-2-3 in at least one half of our opening 2 friendlies, with a midfielder dropping deep, the fullbacks allowed to get high up the pitch, and pressing up top, so you’ve got to imagine that’s definitely one formation Jules has in mind for next season.

The fullbacks were allowed to be so high up wasn’t Aaron Cresswell offside twice in the 2nd half? In the decade he’s been a Hammer when has Aaron Cresswell ever been offside? :D

Didn’t catch the game but I see Funky reckons Cresswell was offside twice. Something I thought I’d never hear or see!

if we are to push the fullbacks so high up they need to be able to get back quickly. emersom and coufal will be knackered pretty quick under this formation; so I hope we bring in two fullbacks to share the load. we know that lop makes a lot of subs and uses his squad so we will need the options at fullback to make the system work.

orford casey potts earthy irving all good but lets see how they fair against two mid table PL teams in the next stage of the pre season.

we need players at LB RB CB CM LW and CF even if the above all do well and earn places in the first team squad and ultimately the bench.

people online have commented that this WHU team seem to have more energy lets hope thats the case and we can be on the front foot rather than the low block shuffle under moyes.

a few signings in this week will boost morale and feel good factor around the club and fans.

walker-peters and duran to join the group this week hopefully.

Came away with optimism yesterday. We played a far higher defensive line, pressed hard and passed far more quickly. Early days and it was Dagenham not Citeh, but you can already see a very different style, nice to see 6 or 7 players in the opposition half when in possession.
Some of the kids are nearly ready now, just need game experience, Orford looks to have gone up about 3 sizes over the summer. With the Internationals back and hopefully 3 or 4 further recruits every chance we are top half pushing Europe, but I hope we can sign a couple asap to be ready for Celta game rather than the end of August.

Isn't Orford the one that is supposedly pushing for a move away? Do we need to get him tied down to a new contract if he's showing promise?

I suspect one or two of the U21 lot were getting itchy feet because of what they saw as something of a road block to progress whilst Moyes was thate. I woul like to feel that the new head coach might be seen as someone more likely to encourage their development at the club and thatthey will see opportunities arising along the way.

Of course the reason he supposedly wants out could be financial which is another matter entirely. But wasn't that the reason Sonny Perkins left ? And his footballing development doesn't seem to have benefited from his decision, does it ?

It’s also one thing to do it against Dagenham and quite another to attempt it against Premier League teams. We looked very tidy against some of the lesser European sides and yet look much less competent in the league due to the difference in intensity.

Bit late to this one, but the possible reason for the charge could be down to us.

Several years ago (10?), we played D&R in a pre-season friendly and I happened to be working with the then chairman of the club. He arranged some tickets for Eggs Jnrs 1 and 2 and myself and apologised that he had to charge me full price for all the tickets. I was never expecting them for nothing as being a small club, I didn't want to take money out of their coffers. But the reason was, he said, that West Ham had charged D&R something like £20,000 to turn up and play.

Bit of a c**t's trick if you ask me.

The national league transmission of the streamed game made it clear to viewers that 100% of stream fees and match day revenues went to the hosts.

Completely right. On this occasion West Ham were the good guys. Historic cases might be different, don’t know and seen no first hand evidence, but good for the small clubs. Look forward to Maidenhead game next season given Kilman recruitment apparently.

Thanks for that info. I’ll be working in Maidenhead on Wednesday so may well go to this game afterwards.

Flat first half, better second.

JWP the stand out player. Potts neat and tidy. Kilman solid. Mavro much better. Irving looking decent.

Not sure about Guiellme. Seemed to want to cut in on his left every time. Cornet, offside two or three times in that first half.

Solid win.

Good afternoon out for the kids. Burgers cost more than the match tickets, but good for Dagenham. 4500 odd attendance is big for them. It’s great that West Ham do this every year. I still have fond memories of attending myself as a teen.
