Re: What are you playing right now?
Still playing Elden Ring DLC. I've put about 15 hours into it so far and dear ****ing lord I've just met Bayle the Dread. Wow. His entrance is something else, even if it's not a cutscene.
Five attempts made, even with Piteous Igon and Black Knife Tiche at my side and it wasn't enough. Got him down to maybe a third of his massive health bar, I may come back to him and try after visiting some other areas.
What a boss though.
Think of every major grand dragon boss in previous Fromsoft titles. Kalameet, Midir, Sinh, the Ancient Dragon, the King of the Storms (Nameless King) and even counting the likes of Fortissax and Placidusax (who is Bayle's arch enemy and nemesis) in the Elden Ring base game - Bayle has them beat for looks and aggression alone.
He moves around the massive arena like a jungle cat, and he's a nightmare to just get a good hit in without getting hit yourself. For a 100+ ton dragon, he's a nimble and fleet-footed sum'bitch.
Then phase 2 comes and all bets are indeed off. I have to learn his moveset and windows to stand any chance. Even my vast array of weapons and incants, while doing high damage leave me wide open for attacks that obliterate my health.
I WILL get the better of him.

Last Epoch still - finished off a level 80 boss with a level 80 home brew character last night - something I haven't been able to do in Diablo 4 ever.

Doom. Lots of Doom.
Also that remake of Mafia is on GP now so giving that another playthrough.

Dark Lords - a very cheap (£3.00) fantasy city manager with Text adventures added on. A light, fun, funny game that satisfies my rpg itch and brings a touch of levity to my Last Epoch grind.

Just finished Arco.
Its a great game. The combat is turn based but also real time, which I've never really seen before. And it's set in a kind of wild west world but slightly different. The main characters are central or southern American, in a world clashing with "newcomers".
It's about 15 hours long and I enjoyed every minute. Would recommend.

I'm enjoying Red Dead Redemption 2 but I'm not sure it has grabbed me like some other games. That's not to say it isn't an amazing game, I think it is the Western setting which doesn't quite resonate with me like fantasy games do.

Picked it up and gave it another go last year - and hundreds of hours later. I rate it as the best title I've ever played.
And as far as I can recall, it's the only game that's ever reduced me to tears (for good reason!) too.
Stick with it. I think you will be rewarded.

I'm aware of the ending as it is hard to avoid spoilers when a game has been out for a few years and I'm not sure I'll particularly want to play through again - compare that to Cyberpunk 2077 where I did 3 playthroughs back to back despite its similarly bleak ending - I guess the difference is you could apply more variability to Cyberpunk whereas RDD2 limits you to 'good' or 'bad' Arthur from what I've seen.

Re: 🕹️ What are you playing right now?
I will finish it for sure, I just don't find the desire to play it as much as I do some other games. I'm part way through chapter 4 and think the world building and attention to detail is probably the best I've played. Arthur Morgan is a great character, the voice acting is top notch, the amount of content is incredible, hell I've played a few games of dominoes even. Hunting doesn't really do it for me and I find it a bit distasteful even though I'm not vegetarian/vegan, I'm much happier doing bounties and killing people I mean, bloody hell you can even board a train at the station and just travel around, it's mad.Up the Junction wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 6:40 pm That was me in 2018, MH.

Re: 🕹️ What are you playing right now?
Plenty of opportunity for that!
You've completed the bulk of it, then. Is that down in the swamp/the game's version of New Orleans? Chapter 2 is where to stay for as long as possible if you're seeking 100% (or near) completion.
Yes, so I believe.Metal Hammer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 7:52 pmRDD2 limits you to 'good' or 'bad' Arthur from what I've seen.
As for replay value, don't think there are any modern-era games I've completed more than once. Have hundreds of titles on my PC that are yet to be played at all yet, which would probably get first dibs.
Saving this for when I get round to investing in a new graphics card (ray tracing etc).

Elden Ring DLC is complete.
Now I’m weighing up whether to start Cyberpunk 2077 or Red Dead Redemption II……

I picked it up back end of last week - currently level 48 Mage, playing through the campaign. Really enjoying it so far.

Yup still playing LE. Level 86 now, been giving it a rest as although a lot of the bosses are doable, some will require me to be higher level.
I'm playing via steam via pc. I believe it's cross platform. DM me your steam ID and I'll add you if you want to team up. Quite happy to level you if you want that.

Re: 🕹️ What are you playing right now?
Been playing a bit of Warzone again the last week or so. Well, Rebirth Island anyway, not the battle royale. Have been pretty dusty but managed two games with over ten kills last night and a win to boot. The night before I felt like I was getting obliterated in every game. Doesn't help that I don't have the last MP game, whatever that was, so my loadout is old Modern Warfare weapons but I don't feel like you really need your loadout on Resurgence.
