Squad depth looks good. Will take a decent amount of time to get the new team settled. If we don't play like a Top-8 to 10 side in March, then something has gone wrong.
Re: ♻️ The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Yeah, the main positive was the efficiency in getting the deals done. That has to be TS. We're still playing catch up with the squad to a degree but it does have decent depth now.

I think one way or another we have enough to get us to January.

Would have been double that if the mods hadn't deleted all the Duran Duran and Solar puns

Re: ♻️ The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
To put the 'in 38' into a little context. I am not sure about this season but before the start of the season he had played about 550 minutes of football for Villa. Per minute of football his goal return would be more than 30 goals a season if he could keep up the same rate of return. The hype about Duran is based on more than just a few spectacular goalsthamesideiron wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 2:45 pm Sorry not getting the Duran love in....."Is there something I should know"......
Seriously tho, I aint getting it,didn't know to much so had a look around....
8 goals in 27 for Chicago ....hardly high level footie...
7 in 38 for Villa...lots of sub appearances,granted...looks like made his name with Villa fans with 2 late goals against red scouse, after being
two goals down keep them in a CL spot..started 3 PL games only.
1 Goal in 11 for Colombia..
Just 20 years old.
Goal of season by villa fans..that's it really...
And we're spose to get an untried maybe/maybe not player in for 40+ mill and play him, instead of a German international starting CF,
by some of us.
The Irons salute don't swing it for me I'm afraid..

…and yet none of the ‘big clubs’ wanted him. Strange. Good luck in Europe anyway.Villa_Fan_In_Peace wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 9:19 pm To put the 'in 38' into a little context. Re: ♻️ The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
He is nowhere near ready to go and play for a big club yet, he is still very raw and clearly has a bit of maturing to do. The lad wants to start every game so there is little chance of him going to a big club until he has proven himself more so I don't find it strange the big clubs haven't come in for him. Only time will tell if he will fulfill his potential but I am happy he is staying at Villa, I didn't want to see him leave.Bond Holder 59 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 10:25 pm …and yet none of the ‘big clubs’ wanted him. I think we need a lot of luck in Europe, its going to be tough and a new experience for us. I have waited decades to be in the top competition in Europe so I intend to enjoy it even if the results don't go our way.
