Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

We'd been out with friends for a meal in Chelmsford and got caught in the rain so shot into a pub on the high Street...Garrisons or something.

What a **** hole. No beer on the pumps apart from Corona, toilets were full of what looked like mosquitoes and just generally rancid. I assume it's about to shut its doors for good. Stayed there 5 minutes and got out of dodge.

0/10 all round.

Haven't been Chelmsford for a while but at 5pm it was completely dead. £5.70 as well to park the car in the multi storey for 3 hours... :eh:

Went to Novo Brewing in Imperial Beach* last night.

Novo started off in Brazil making alcoholic Kombuchas then moved into the beer world too.

My Missus had their Chocolate Peanut Butter Imperial Stout which is about 9 or 10%.

I had a few Ipanema Double IPAs.

Their grub is a mix of normal American stuff along with Brazilian & South American dishes.

Massive place next to the bottom of San Diego bay & right next to a cycling path, I've ridden on plenty of times, that loops the bay & end up on Coronado Island. They have a lovely garden with views of downtown San Diego & Coronado Bridge in the distance.

Highly recommended next time you're in San Diego

* - the most south westerly beach in mainland USA

Ventured in to The Bat and Ball,Westfields, yesterday post match.

Drinking diet coke, which tbf was ice cold, loads of ice, plastic beaker due to it being maychday.

Busy as hell, loud music, volume up to 11 when they played the west ham crowd pleasers.

The sort of place 18- 35 year olds probably flock.

The Irish House, Ranelagh Street, Liverpool.

Indifferent customer service for a very average pint of Guinness at £4.70. Irish sport club flags everywhere and ex-City hero Richard Dunne up on the wall amongst other Irishmen.

Bit plastic. I imagine the tourists love it.

Woodman & Olive ,Wormley .Hertfordshire.

Very pleasant country pub with a massive outside area.Family friendly with stuff for kids to do,and Dog friendly. Not that i have kids or a dog...
Was here yesterday for a family funeral, and the food was excellent, mainly Greek menu, and done to perfection.
Not my usual type of pub, but for a family summer afternoon drink, its a very good one

Guinness was sublime

I'm in a bar/brewery in Ocean Beach & on each table is a box of Lego. People build Lego cars then race them on a track (slope at the start to build up momentum).

There's even a timer so you know who won. Lots of husbands & wives racing each other.

A Russian woman just beat her husband and he left.

I have a video which I'll upload to Instagram later.

The funny thing is the bloke in charge is from my work. He's been off for a year on medical disability leave :crossed:

That is the pub near Paradise Wildlife Park isn't it. Big car park?
I had a decent bit of Greek grub there once after going to the Paradise Park. I think it was the day we drew 1-1 at home to Manchester City back in Autumn 2020. There were Covid restrictions in place

Major mistake popping in there. The upstairs hotel part is used by the councils etc for housing homeless people/alcoholics etc.

My entry in this thread is The Prospect of Whitby in Wapping, London. A complete contrast to the above, I found it extremely pleasant with loads of old decor, loved the stone flooring which looked to be the same as on the path outside, an excellent selection of beers on tap including the low alcohol Lucky Saint, also noticed Hacker-Pschorr Kellerbier which is unreal and surprising to see on tap, which I'd have definitely caned if I still drank. The outdoor areas on the river were a delight too. 10/10.

Unless you were a pirate as you would have been chained to the wall and drowned at high tide. The City of Ramsgate further up Wapping High Street still has the jibbet on the foreshore. All the pubs along Wapping High St are decent but as a result are packed a lot of the time at weekends.

£7.05 for a pint of Guinness in The Magpie by Liverpool St station last night and had to swap the last 2 pints out as the barrel was done.

Yesterday was my birthday so I went for a lovely walk on the beach then to a bar/restaurant near my work called DIRTY BIRDS - which has a completely different meaning here than it does in Blighty

They're famous for their wings, of which I had 10 habanero lime dry rub wings. And a pitcher of IPA plus a couple of spicy Margaritas (it was Mexican Independence Day after all).

I give it 8/10. Tab came to $90 with tip.
