Re: Where did you walk today?
Over the last week rather than today, but what the hell you can never see too much of the Cornish coast.
I walked from Porthleven to Mullion Cove
Looking east to Porthleven
Church Cove
Back to the Marconi Museum
Mullion Cove
A different day, I walked from Porthleven to Marazion
St Michael's Mount
Then a walk around Godrevy

We go at least once a year to see family and friends, and would go more often if it was nearer.Colne Dynamo wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 12:34 pm A beautiful place. I've not been to Cornwall since I was a kid.

Do you take the dog in the Prince of Wales? Free dog biscuits in there.
As well as a nice pint.

Re: Where did you walk today?
My knee has been in such a bad way of late the furthest I've got is the kitchen -
Yesterday while In inverness the Mrs parked up in Simpson's for breakfast but the two hour 30 minute drive only made my knee was and I could hardly make it to the boot of the car - so we abandoned that idea .
We drove on to Roseisle in Moray , a place we visited most weeks while in Thomshill for 18 months -
It was such a lovely day I put up with the pain to the bench overlooking the beach then after 10 minutes sitting there I thought ' Sod it , I'm getting down there ' - walked as far as the first pill-box pausing for stops along the way .
Furthest I've walked in a month -

Well , I now know quite a bit about Gilbert , AZ - according to one site it comes 4th as one of the best places to live in the South West , it has zero snowfall - 300 sunny days every year - gets a bit too hot for me I'm afraid but I have earmarked a property down Lakeview Trails where I wouldn't mind living - shame they're asking $1555,000 for it - nice kitchen though .

I live here now, so property prices will likely plummet. The Old Man of Storr wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 9:08 am Well , I now know quite a bit about Gilbert , AZ - according to one site it comes 4th as one of the best places to live in the South West , it has zero snowfall - 300 sunny days every year - gets a bit too hot for me I'm afraid but I have earmarked a property down Lakeview Trails where I wouldn't mind living - shame they're asking $1555,000 for it - nice kitchen though .

A (still ongoing) long walk around the local countryside. Picture is from Woodborough Park Farm.

Back at Nairn again today - staying until Friday - weather is going to be half the temperatures we enjoyed last week -
Went for a short walk further up the beach this afternoon , quite near to where I took this photo last September -

Looks stunning TOMOS … have you seen the dolphins at Chanonry beach near to Fortrose, which isn’t that far from where you are. Possibly not the right time of year but when they are chasing the salmon returning to their breeding grounds, it is some sight. Saw then a couple of years ago.

Been there 3 times , Pablo and never saw a thing .
Someone always said ' They were here an hour ago , one caught a salmon ' .
There's a Dolphin Centre in Spey Bay too - we visited there many a time when we lived in Thomshill for 18 months - saw 1 dolphin .
When we stayed over in Embo [ near Dornoch ] last year [ and this ] we saw a pair swimming close by in the bay .
Years back when I owned an Orkney Longliner I was out in the bay where we live trying to find some mackerel - there was a bit of mist about making it slightly spooky when all of the sudden there was this huge splash right next to the boat - 2 playful dolphins - gave me the fright of my life . I reeled my kit in and made for home .

Re: Where did you walk today?
We spent a week in Rockfield, near Portmahomack and had booked a dolphin spotting tour on a boat … nothing, nada, zilch - £40 for nothing!! Went home and the wonderful missus jaye, who likes dolphins, went searching on ‘tinterweb, and found that the beach at Fortrose was a hotspot - nipped down there the following day and bingo, we saw at least a dozen … and yes, one did catch a salmon!!The Old Man of Storr wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 9:43 am Been there 3 times , Pablo and never saw a thing .
