New ads?
Suddenly started to see new ad format “wrapping” the RHS and top of a screen. Whilst you can dismiss easily enough on a new page, if I’ve entered a topic via “view last read post” method, I have to scroll back to the top of the page to dismiss it, and then struggle to remember where I was!
Completely get the needs for ads etc. but is there a way to be able to dismiss the ad without having to scroll to the top?
This is iPhone on Safari

Re: New ads?
Can you add a screenshot Lofty so I know which ad you're referring to specifically? Thanks.

Sod’s Law I can’t reproduce it now! It was Disney + though.
If I see it again I’ll screenshot and share

Re: New ads?
Getting these on my Samsung S22 as well. It's making Looking at KUMB on my phone impossible and I've stopped bothering pretty much. I only look at when I'm on my laptop now.

Re: New ads?
ah, so maybe the big white space that I have been getting between posts could be ads ? I wondered if it was an "X" link that didn't come over...
I asked on the GD forum and it seems I'm not the only one getting blank white spaces in between posts..

Re: New ads?
Desperately want to not enable an ad blocker on KUMB but the sheer number of ads makes it almost unbearable. Especially on a mobile device. As I'm writing this I currently have, the StanstedExpress wrap, the bottom banner ads, the bottom right video popup amd the embeded skysports ad below the forum. It's more ad than website at this point.
Not to mention the CLS!

Ads on this site
Cry for help, the ads on here are pushing the text to zoom out so far the forum is unreadable.
Also when I try and post it freezes, refreshes and deletes everything I’ve written.
The culture here is the best but the adverts are killing the place.
Is this just me or are others having the same issues?
Why so many ads? I have pop up boxes or videos, banners, more pop ups.
Please help!

Re: Ads on this site
Just had a look in there.
Seems lots of others are having the same problems.
“More advert than site on here”
Probably sums it up.

Re: Ads on this site
Before this is closed, adverts pay for this site that costs you nothing to use. Of course it can be frustrating but we are lucky to have Kumb.Nobles_combover wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 2:46 pm Just had a look in there.

Re: Ads on this site
I believe that UTJ makes his living from this site so the ad's are a necessary evil I'm afraid if we want the place to continue to exist.Nobles_combover wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 2:46 pm Just had a look in there.

Don’t disagree, but I can’t actually use the site.bonzosbeard wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 2:49 pm Before this is closed, adverts pay for this site that costs you nothing to use. Of course it can be frustrating but we are lucky to have Kumb.

Re: Ads on this site
I note you've managed to post three times in this thread alone.
Unfortunately advertising is necessary because the vast majority of our readers don't participate in our other revenue-generating schemes.
