Re: ✍️ Welcome Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Only Trippier (10) had more assists for a defender in the PL than Coufal (7) last season.
On the subject of AWB playing for England, I’d guess Reece James will be Tuchel’s first choice.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - if we wanted a right-back that was going to spend most of the game playing as a winger, we should've gone for Walker-Peters.

Shocking attitude on Saturday from a man who's hardly set the world alight after a half promising start.
His application and effort is dire, particularly tracking back. Take your relationship with the manager out of it, you're a professional footballer paid a fortune to represent the club supported by millions. Do your job.
I'd quite happily see him dropped and loaned to Palace in January off the back of that.

Say what you want about Coufal's limitations (which are often exagerrated IMO), but he'd never do that.
AWB has lost all my respect. I'd prefer it if he didn't play for us.

Re: ✍️ Welcome Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Other than a completely half-arsed performance, when his number was announced to be subbed he stood on the pitch ignoring it, having a chat with Todibo.RaddyKovac wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 10:08 am I was watching a less-than-perfect dream. What did he do?
Then eventually walked off as slowly as he could after some pelters from the crowd.

Re: ✍️ Welcome Aaron Wan-Bissaka
think J-Lo needs to adapt what he wants his fullbacks to do as we dont have a right back that can do these things
AWB is an excellent right back and stick him in an out and out right back position he wont let you down
really good defender and good at the break away.. however i dont want to see him camped up there

Re: ✍️ Welcome Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Seems like a no brainer to drop him given the way we’re trying to play. He’s a good player, the club is just braindead in it’s recruitment. Giving AWB to a coach that thrived with Jesus Navas is criminal really.
Coufal can’t get back quickly and will probably be worse in midfield passing areas but his crossing is good and crosses from full backs is a Lopetegui obsession. I had hoped that we wouldn’t be so reliant on the Czech lads this season…

Re: ✍️ Welcome Aaron Wan-Bissaka
AWB is the least of our issues
We needed a proper CF this window, we got him but got injured
Until then we need to long off Antonio and play ings.
When Antonio plays it's like we have 10 men
We need someone to hold the ball up
I'd play kudos there on his return. It's hard to get the ball off him

So far, he's one of many underwhelming signings. Maybe a victim of Lopetegui's system, but he just looks limited when on the ball. And overall not a player you trust, when things are a bit tough. 6/10 player so far.

AWB is the least of our worries, needs to stop being puched so far forward though.
midfield is where we lose games. too slow and sideways passing.
hanuary window
one young energetic forward
one energetic midfielder
no idea who at this stage !

Re: ✍️ Welcome Aaron Wan-Bissaka
I was surprised to see him come off on Saturday ahead of Emerson, who offered equally little in the final third. I think it says more about what Coufal has to offer going forward than AWB's performance that he got hooked. Given that he's looked pretty comfortable on the left, I'd be happier to see Coufal on for Emerson and AWB switch over to the left. As a defender, AWB is streets ahead of Emerson, and it seems a bit unfair for him to be dug out for his attacking play when our actual forward players are underperforming. I'd much rather have him on the pitch than not.

Re: ✍️ Welcome Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Showing why Man u fans had so many reservations about him
he can defend a one on one very well, but that is about it. overall he is not a great defender when you consider the other facets of defending - positioning, marking/ tracking players, heading
plus, his demeanour seems to suggest he is above West Ham
get Vlad back in

Is there a video of his substitution on Saturday? Maybe I missed it, but I don't remember the cameras showing his reaction.

Re: ✍️ Welcome Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Good player, but completely the wrong player for what the coach wants from his fullbacks.
Proof of needed that the disconnect between the coach and those holding the purse strings continues.

Re: ✍️ Welcome Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Coufal may do less mph but this is compensated for by his rarely overcommitting or losing possession in advanced positions.
