Antonio can be looked at pragmatically in a way that still seems kind.

If the emotional impact on the team means it seriously sours people, it’s a thing. It’s also something that might make players happy if we do it.

I suspect any offer will come with a frank conversation about retirement options.

And no part of doing it will really change the argument on the concessions because the concessions isn’t an error about what they can and can’t afford. They can afford to revert that mistake, they just don’t want to. Ultimately, it’s something they have done out of greed.

The club has very little class, but they only care about how they’re perceived outside of the fans, in the mainstream view. Most football shows will give the emoji claps over a contract for Antonio, but ignore a topic like concessions because it’s not attractive or a quick conversation. He might get it for PR, doesn’t mean him getting it is wrong. Just means we need to keep talking about the other things they don’t do right.

If you believe the fella on here (I have no reason not to), Morton was scuppered by an injury.

I guess we'll see today whether he is included or not.

Both look good bets... especially McAtee if Kudus goes. He needs a switch to a club on our level to really shoe what he's got. McAtee has same agent as Fergie too... not an agency with a large number of big players on their books.

Players at the back will probably be the priority in the summer...

Can’t believe some of you think we should be extending Antonio’s contract. Great servant and all that, but I can’t watch another ball cannon of his shin. He should have been gone a couple seasons ago. We never get players out at the right time.

I'm a bit torn over Micky . Great servant and can see why he could get an extension on emotional grounds .But that injury would finish a 25 year old let alone a 35 year old . One things for certain. if Sullivan is still in charge of the club come the summer . at least 2 of the older out of contract players will get extensions. Whether potter agrees or not .

I liked the bit where the manager was told he'd had a tooth knocked out and he just laughed.

no new contract for antonio;we have to move on now. ferguson if he can prove his fitness should be signed and ings and antonio`s wages can easily fund his wages. 40m fee is reasonable.

craig dawson return imienent ? looks like his contract might be cancelled so would be free to join; if we want him ?

pretty sure you can't cancel a contract and join another club after the window is shut

You can only register to play for another club if you became a free agent during a transfer window.

Becoming a free agent and being to sign for another club outside a transfer window would be open to abuse.

A player at club A wants to sign for club B immediately. All three parties want to transfer to go ahead, so A cancels his contract by mutual consent, becomes a free agent and signs for B who then provide the money for the player to compensate A.

Or worse players buying themselves out of contracts after being tapped up.

As much as we really need to get over our mental block with strikers and our over-reliance on Antonio over the years, he would have made a massive difference off the bench against Chelsea. IF, he can get ever back to full fitness, and IF he would be happy to take a massively reduced wage for a year, I'd have no issue with him being part of the squad as a cameo player, getting the sort of minutes Ings gets for us now. If nothing else he gets us up the pitch when we're under pressure and teams hate playing against him.

He's also part of the furniture. You can't run a club on sentiment, but equally, where's the fun in supporting a conveyor belt of new signings you hadn't heard of a week earlier? How much of a connection do Chelsea fans have with the million players that have turned up over the past two years. We don't support West Ham because they're good, and players like Antonio, or Carroll, or Dawson, or Fornals are the ones that make supporting West Ham different from a 'big six' club, where there's only for personality if you're also performing at an elite level week after week.

AS Monaco sports director Carlos Aviña Ibarrola has admitted that they tried to sign Edson Álvarez from West Ham United last month.

“Edson is obviously a player that I know very well from my time at América. It was an option that we were exploring, and we were pushing. Unfortunately, we could not reach an agreement,” he said.

“He is doing things very well at West Ham and I think it is no surprise that clubs like us and from other leagues are also looking for him.”

alvarez is starting to regain form under potter be a shame to let him go unless he wants out. if so we must be looking at 40m+ . we paid 35m I think for him. rather he stay as we cant keep losing players and having huge turnover of players.
antonio ,we need to move on from and now is the time.

fabianski cresswell coufal ings antonio soler rodriguez cornet should all be moved on/released. we wont raise anything from this lot as most out of contract. rodriguez for 3-5m
then we have mavrospanos, emerson, aguerd, paqueta and kudus who may all be off for decent money.
will ferguson prove his fitness and do enough for us to buy him;40m fee.

huge summer coming up.

GK kellerer
fullbacks - walker-peters
CBs - webster
midfielders - chukewanke, banzuzi, desbury -hall
CF- ferguson ?
LW-

hopefully potts scarles orford casey can all be good enough to be in the first team squad

We had a scout at Feyenoord vs. AC Milan tonight. Not sure if they were there to look at a specific player.
