got up to episode 5 now, Godless

it is a REALLY good series, with several excellent story lines going along, all pretty much intertwined.

might even be better than America Primeval imvho..

Was tempted to see this at the flicks when it was released, glad I never bothered. It’s not an awful film, just a bit underwhelming. Tom Hardy mumbles his dialogue as per and the direction that the story will go is clearly signposted throughout.

Also caught up with Death in Paradise and it’s fair to say Don Gillet is growing on me. Ralph Little is still my favourite across the seasons but Gillet has hit the ground running.

Just downloaded The Bikeriders and was looking forward to it...thanks !!

Don Gilet is superb [ and it could be me but I think he's looking younger in DIP ?? ] -

Every single Inspector has been brilliant , however it's....

DI Humphrey Goodman
DI Neville Parker
DI Mervin Wilson
DI Jack Mooney
DI Richard Poole

For me .

Though you know you're old when you enjoy watching "Father Brown" episodes for the third time.

Stuck on S2 E2 on yesterday but I remembered who the Killer was 3 minutes in .

Father Brown has to be the BEST EVER daytime TV programme ever made - it's superb .

Though I do miss Mrs McCarthy's scones with jam , cream and fresh strawberries .

Both series are very very good indeed

Godless is 8 years old, but seems to have only got a lot of attention recently

I do like Michelle Dockery

Did the 'binge' thang on first two series' of Yellowstone over the weekend. Got into it, Ah guess, though couldn't ignore the fact that it was Dallas/Dynasty with cows instead of oil and a lot of ultra-violence. The Australian thingy about ranches (what was it called?) was better imo. Admit to getting bored by series 3 cos it seemed all the scenarios had been played out and it seemed like a repeat. Funny at times, very cheesy at times (good ol' shootin' fistin' cowboys!). Will probably watch the rest.

Watched the Boyzone documentary No Matter What.

Basically confirmed what I thought of Louis Walsh and Ronan Keating.....both are absolute arseholes. Other than that, I thought it was very good.

it was a post on here that enlightened me to Godless and I was astounded that it was 8 years old.

cracking cast, very, very good story lines. and yes she's lovely. Jeff Daniels was great as the protagonist as well. just got to the last episode, and without spoilers it ended up the way I thought it would, with just one exception. thought that bit could have been a tad more realistic.

all in all, a very good watch.

and thank you if it was you who first mentioned it crouchie, if not thanks to the person that did..

Virdee on BBC1 - The TV Times likened it to Luther but it was nothing like it. It seemed more a vehicle designed to educate people about the way the asian community live in the UK while the lead actor had all the charisma of a stick!

Whilst I'm waiting for Severance season 2 to finish airing, I thought I'd give Slow Horses a go.

I've been a bit disappointed by it. I thought because Gary Oldman stars it might be like Tinker Tailor, but it's a bit too much of a caper.

You know when you can just tell that a character is going to die ?

The clue comes in the dialogue ....usually '' I can't reveal the name of the killer over the phone , meet me at such and such '' .

That one is the BIG Giveaway , never comes bigger than that ....

So , when James says to Rose in The Split...'' I want to live my life '' while riding away on his pushbike I immediately says to Jen ..

'' James is going to die ''.....'' No , he's the only nice character in the show , James can't die ..''

Sure enough , with just minutes left of Series Three , Episode One James is struck by a car and dies .

The warning signs were there and I thought it might happen , it still spoilt it for me though , I liked James .

ITVx Unforgotten Eps 1-6 watched over 3 nights. Really good, took a while for all the 'little stories' to come together but some really likeable characters and the main two superb.

More please!

although I love the idea of the series and was very happy when Sunny took over from Cassie, the last series was dreadful in its premise. illegitimate dwarf sired by pompous Tory politician, had a baby with a whore who was on drugs. the mother stuffed her baby up the chimney and we only found out about it much later of course. she murdered the father but as Sunny couldn't "prove it" and thought she had enough go wrong in her life he "let it go" but it was full of, imvho, White politician does wrong to "Woman of Colour" and as he was a right b*stard, she got nothing. no tampering with a corpse which they seemed to totally forgot about.......

awful politicised story line. it had the makings of a good premise unti lit went off on a tangent.

similar reason why I switched off from Silent Witness which I had followed since inception.

hope this new series doesn't go this way or it's another "ticked all the boxes" or it will go the way if SW for me.......

Also a giveaway when you look an actor up on imdb as you're watching because you're trying to figure out where you've seen them before... and then you spot that they're only in the programme for 3 episodes, therefore you deduce (correctly) they're going to die soon.

Before i go on I'm not having a pop in any way shape or form chaps BUT I genuinely never see any of this 'politicking' or 'Box ticking' when I watch these things to the point where I'm not even sure what it is you have seen.
