Ok I pulled the trigger in the steam sale. How do I link up with anyone (if you want to link up) and what's the best way to start off? TYIA.

Well I give it a go. I'm level 5, built a little camp and am about to return to The Dutchess after finishing a mission. I'm pretty crap at this game, my shooting skills are rubbish, waste loads of ammo and am crap at crafting.

I've forgotten so much since l;ast playing Fallout 4.

Oh - how do i get wars to work all of the time please?

Everyone is crap at this game until level 50 Indy, when everything opens up to you (best weapons etc).

FWIW I can't even get on my PC version as it's continually crashing since yesterday's update. :newharry:

First end game raid dropped this week - The Gleaming Depths.

Here's Angry Turtle (who I like to imagine is actually Tomas Soucek) with a guide.

Well I'm either gonna give up on this game or restart it. ATM I've got no ammo and keep on getting attacked and melee weapons are rubbish here. I can't make ammo either.

Everywhere I go i get ganked by NPC's. I had a quest to visit an NPC at a fairground wheel - then about 10 undead turned up and blased the crap outta me - with laser weapons.

I'm sorta stuck with no real money, no ammo and not a lot of health. I'm only level 7 so I'll either wipe the game or restart and see if the same things happen again.

This is nothing like the Fallout 4 stand alone game IMHO, way to hard.

At Level 7 Indy, you've barely taken your first breath in Appalachia.

The grind is real until level 50, when you can really start to flesh out your build with the best weapons/armour. If you need ammo/resources, head on down to the Gleaming Depths in the far south west of the map (Ash Heap) where people exiting the raid drop hundreds of stimpacs/radaway/rad-x etc.

Pick them up and sell at the train stations/Whitesprings Mall. Within a week of starting a new character, I've amassed nearly 7,000 caps this way (a few hours' game play). Also attend public events and tag as many baddies as you can for XP purposes and to improve your ranking/level.

It should be far, far easier to level up now than when the game launched six years ago sans any (human) NPCs. If you want to jump on with me at some point I'd be happy to show you a few pointers. Gamer tag is 4am.

Re advancing - finally hit level 500 on PS last night.
