I enjoyed that little history lesson by the commentator. The last time Newcastle won domestic honours, Winston Churchill was Prime Minister and Sterling Moss won The British Grand Prix.

5 trophies we’ve won in that 70 year wait for them. But I know where you’re coming from.

Well done Newcastle.

I'd like to watch the lifting of the trophy but could not bear one more contrived pre scripted cliche from the commentator.

Well played Newcastle. Probably best midfield in the country. I wish we had some of their physicality.

Made up for them, I know quite a few Toon fans and they are all genuine lads..

Today I’d normally have bet on a Celtic and Liverpool double. I’ve given up gambling now but it shows how difficult it really is to predict!

Pleased for Newcastle as equally as I am amused with Liverpool. I know Scouse reds who talked the quadruple this season.

I don’t really like him cos of the high level of gamesmanship, however, fair play to Guimaraes. Couldn’t speak a word of English when he came over and yet he can now hold an interview in a cauldron of noise.

I thought the Newcastle players had got lost there for a second walking up those stairs. Like Spinal Tap. Would end up pushing through a fire exit and end up in the car park.

At one point he pondered how Jackie Milburn would be feeling right now. That would be the Jackie Milburn who died in 1988.

Good grief.
