It's more expensive but I've loved my Ayn Odin 2 since it arrive a month or so ago. I've played numerous Switch games on it with no issues, and upscaled most PS2 and Gamecube games to at least 3x native resolution whilst still getting full framerate. Wii and 3DS games work really great too.

On another note, that dockyard level with the pixel perfect jumps can go **** itself!
Definitely not made easier with input lag on modern VDUs.

I guess so, I'm pretty sure I used PayPal when I bought my 3+

Have ordered my retroid pocket 4pro. There seems to be a couple of issues of the bat according to reviewers. New product new bugs.
When I first received my RP3+ any issues were ironed out with OTA updates so hoping for the same resolution with the RP4pro.
It should only take two weeks to get here so will update.once I have received and set up

Thanks utj, they have fixed the ghosting and the fan settings with an OTA update. I was playing Simpsons hit and run earlier with no ghosting issues. Will keep testing though

I bought an Anbernic RG5XX Plus about 6 months ago and really enjoyed the handheld emulation so upgraded to a Retroid Pocket 4 Pro after seeing Damiant and UTJ talking about them.

I loved the Anbernic, but this device is a huge upgrade (at higher cost). Have been playing through Dragon Quest VIII on PS2 which is a game I've wanted a good version of for ages. That, plus Gamecube games & Pokemon games are going to keep me busy (and my wallet in check) for quite a while now.

Am glad you like it, think there was a new OTA update the other day to fix some issues.
I'm playing the thoroughly boring nascar 2005 chase for the cup

Just finished converting the wii into something more useful. Hacked it, modded it, and it now plays downloaded gamecube and wii games, and also has emulators for snes, megadrive, and arcade. Outputs nicely to the CRT tv I recently bought. I'll still probably upgrade to a Raspberry Pi outputting to scart at some point for emulation simply due to the much better controller support and native 240p output. Going to give it a spin with Sonic Colors later

Been a year since I've gone down this rabbit hole, thanks guys :crylol:

I am now the owner of a Miyoo Mini Plus after my Anbernic RG35XXX shat the bed, and am eyeing up those Retroid Pocket 5's, the OLED screen is really tempting. Those anbernics that look like the old GBA and GBA SP are also very tempting.

Hearing noises that PS3 emulation is improving on Android slowly, so might wait a while for the next Retroid and see whether I can get a device of that kind that can play PS3 quality games.

Been having a bit of an 8-bit retro moment of late. PAC-man, wonderboy (bloody hard, that one), mr. Do, Defender, various Donkey Kongs… there’s a reason those games were so popular. They were utterly to the point.

Anyone ever beat a proper hard game either now or back in the day? Example, "nintendo hard" almost became an own genre at the time - anyone ever beaten Adventure Island, Snake, rattle and roll or Ghost and Goblins?

Rock bloody hard, that one. A shame, too, because the visuals and game engine were excellent - but spoiled by ludicrous difficulty tuning.

Defender
Dragon's Lair
Wonderboy
Return of the Jedi (the isometric one)
Gradius (and all the other sequels and variants)

With save scumming or without

With - Ecco the Dolphin - MegaDrive and Ninja Gaiden - NES (only 1 save before the last boss though as playing through several levels I've already proved I can beat is stupid, same with Ecco as I refuse to do Welcome to the Machine each time I die to the alien queen)

Without - Fantastic Dizzy - MegaDrive and Theme Hospital - PC

I think I completed every level of Head Over Heels on the ZX Spectrum. There were quite a few different ways to complete the game, and I'm pretty certain I did them all. That took a fair amount of time, to say the least.
