Re: Where did you walk today?
All my nearby walks aren't so nice anymore. They're all crop fields and they've all been harvested and ploughed now meaning that my walks at the moment tend to be through fields of soil and mud

Walked from western edge of Greenwich where Deptford Creek is, through central Greenwich and then down across Blackheath to Blackheath village, what a lovely part of London that is.

Re: Where did you walk today?
Was going to have a run today but accidentally got drunk last night plus my plantar fajitas was playing up so I walked a 10k.
Went north along Mission Bay then back on the beach (right side up, left side down in this photo).
Then had Habanero Lime wings & a few beers in a bar named Dirty Birds which doesn't have the same meaning here as it does in the UK

Parked at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, Hampshire, then walked down the path to Bucker's Hard (about 2.5 miles) - a delightful 17th/18th century village which was a major shipbuilding centre for the Royal Navy in that time, with a great museum and fairly decent pub.

Re: Where did you walk today?
Had a walk up Kinder Scout today in the Peak District. Forgot to take a single photo!
Edit: Walked past Jarvis Cocker heading the other direction on the way up.

Walked a couple of miles yesterday, feet ached like buggery afterwards but hey ho, I did it.

Re: Where did you walk today?
Saturday morning I went to see the Spanish Galleon that has been moored at St Katherine Docks, then walked back to Waterloo along the south bank to meet my mate before going to the game. Despite the herds of tourists it was a lovely walk, London is fascinating to walk through observing all the history.

Re: Where did you walk today?
Just to give my thread a boost...
Hard to get many photos this time of year as I walk in the dark.
Just done a circuit at Gedling Country Park - here's a picture of Gedling taken from there.

Out of interest - is it possible to resize an image using bbcode? Like specifying a width?

Re: Where did you walk today?
We're in Inverness till Thursday so this morning we went for a walk from Merkinch to the canal -
A path which follows the shore dotted with benches all the way to the canal -
Beautiful day if a little cold - spotted a snipe , a few oyster catchers , loads of gulls and a couple of crows .
There's a pool at the end called The Witch's Coffin .

Re: Where did you walk today?
Heading out for a long walk tomorrow. Haven't 100% decided which route. It'll most likely be a circuit of Kinder Scout's edges, although there's a part of me that fancies doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks yet again. Either way, it'll mainly be in the fog and probably extending to it going dark.

Re: Where did you walk today?
And of course I ended up doing nothing instead! Had a week off work and really don't feel like I've taken advantage of it enough. I have managed to put a bit of work into my neglected hiking blog, which was nice. Hopefully I can really get back into that again now. I'm currently about 6 posts behind.Colne Dynamo wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 6:34 pm Heading out for a long walk tomorrow. Haven't 100% decided which route. Might try and book another day off next week.

Re: Where did you walk today?
Would really like to get out for a few more adventures with my son. I've just finished writing up the trip we had to Snowdon back in August for my blog https://hillexplorer.com/snowdon-to-moel-eilio/
We loved it but will probably have to wait till we get the daylight hours back next year before we do more. We've already planned to do Scafell Pike next, and then maybe Yorkshire 3 peaks over 2 days. We'll also try and get a few more day trips done to the Peak District. I've spent years walking on my own but I'm starting to get a little fed up with it now. It's nicer to have company.
In the meantime, we'll start getting out more in the evenings now for scary walks in the dark by torchlight. Lot's of countryside and woodland around here to make it extra creepy.
Hope the mods don't mind me sharing that link by the way - I don't make a penny from it. It's a labour of love.

Re: Where did you walk today?
It's that time of year again.
Today I have the day off so I'm on a long local walk, joining up a few villages cross country.
This is looking towards Wood borough

Re: Where did you walk today?
The sun is shining but the crop fields are still freshly ploughed soil at the moment. Doesn't make for great photos.
