Page refreshing in the middle of writing a post.

Site refreshing continually while in the middle of typing a post. You lose everything you’ve typed. On iPhone 14. Not experienced it on my laptop, but rarely use that for here.

That may explain why a couple of my posts vanished after submitting....

To confirm, there is no code inherent in KUMB's design that triggers a page reload.

Therefore I can only suggest the issue is client-side.

Just to confirm, if a mod deems something wrong with a post they'll delete it but leave a message saying it's been deleted and the reason, they won't just vanish it?

Same here…you get a very very quick flash of something on the screen then reloads. iPhone only…doesn’t happen for me on my laptop or Samsung tablet

Yes - if there's time to do so - which isn't always the case.

Been happening to me for a while too. Often after writing a long post, I will lose the whole thing just before I hit send Headbanger . I now just open notes on my IPhone then copy and paste a message. I just did a bit of digging around and found the following on a Reddit thread regarding the issue. Seems it’s a problem specific to the safari mobile browser and ads…

"The problem appears to be related to how Safari handles ad scripts, particularly on Apple devices. The large number of ad scripts is causing a memory issue in the browser, which results in random page refreshes. This issue seems to predominantly affect larger customers with higher page views, while smaller customers appear less impacted.

Around August or September last year was when the issue started. Initially, Raptive (formerly AdThrive) made some changes to the way their ads loaded, which seemed to improve the situation slightly. However, a couple of months later, additional changes were made, causing the issue to revert to its original severity. Since then, we haven't received any specific updates on the matter."
