Re: Trump
They all seem to really hate Europe though, huh?
Europe and Canada.
Yet they like Russia.
I find it odd, that level of vitriol, over what. They want us to buy more of their military hardware? They have a trade imbalance and are envious of the nations that are on the positive end?
This all seems like a proper “knows the price of everything and the value of nothing” situation. The backlash in Canada has been quite severe, but they’re a relatively small economy, 45m odd people I think. Europe as a whole? That’s 500m odd. If Europeans get offended enough to start boycotting American goods, they’ll really feel the pinch, and more so than we will frankly.

Re: Trump
Extra i snuck into "twitter". It's a Fox News host suggesting the journalist used a fake name/number to trick the guy into adding him to the Signal chat.

"I added him because his whatsapp handle was "DonnieT" and his pfp was a cartoon of the president ejaculating over the Canadian flag. How was I supposed to know that wasn't really him?"

Now, I'm all for Trump bashing but after a headline like,
"Trump signs order aimed at overhauling US elections",
I was expecting the worse.
But, after reading, all he's done is decree that anyone going to vote needs to show their passport or a picture ID drivers licence before voting.
Seems pretty common sense to me. (We have to do it in Ireland, no idea in the UK maybe you can educate me).
The naysayers say this move will mean millions of Americans will be unable to vote.
They have 3 years to apply for a passport, what's the big deal..??

Re: Trump
I find it weird how normal it seems to be for the "land of the free" to have a leader that seems to constantly rule by decree, rather than have their congress pass laws.

Re: Trump
It's pathetic. Show some ****ing leadership and admit you ****ed up.
Everything is always someone else's fault with these c****.
What is going on in America politically right now is astounding. I mean, truly unbelievable.
It will go away by the weekend though, because they will have accidentally bombed Greenland, or sent a dick pic to Katrin Jakobsdottir and we'll all have something else to gobsmacked about.

Re: Trump
Almost certainly, if this doesn't naturally drop out of the news cycle, Trump will just saying/do something else extraordinary and the news media will lose their heads once again at the obvious bait, and round and round we'll go.

Re: Trump
I see Republican governors are hitting up Fox News and leading with "it was a mistake, and it's time to move on" from the text chain story.
Boggles the mind.

Re: Trump
Sorry for the off topic, but how did it work before? There was no ID check at all? That seems super dangerous.woodgreenspur wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 9:26 am We do,but it wasn't widely popular when brought in the year before last(I think).

Back on the signalgate, security matters being discussed on Signal appears to me the reddest of all flags, but it is the one not mentioned at all on the media clips shared here. I saw comments on other platforms that all this was a decoy brilliantly set by the administration, but in general, when you wonder whether it's stupidity or supreme intelligence, manipulation and planning behind someone's actions, the safe bet is stupidity.

Re: Trump
Italian radio this morning:
"JD Vance is like that weird guy that hangs around playgrounds, but when confronted by concerned parents about being a peado, he just says he's there for some other reason but continues to turn up, day after day"
Found that quite funny

Re: Trump
Eyeliner boy now tagging along with his wife, but they're only going to visit the US space base in the remote north west now.

As an aside, I didn't think the Americans could get any more cringe, but apparently she is called the "Second Lady", or SLOTUS.
