Thanks for posting UTJ. That top half is so tough. The potential second round of Wilson v Xintong could be a decent final!

Zhao wasn't involved in match fixing, hence why he was only given a two-year ban and others lifetime suspensions.Crouchend_Hammer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 10:29 pmQuestion is whether he should be allowed to play given the match fixing

Yes - if the latter is going to win it, he'll have to beat both of last year's finalists before reaching the last eight - which is madness.ironilunga wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 11:43 am Thanks for posting UTJ. Big ask for a returning player. But he's got the talent.

Re: Snooker: 2025 Halo World Championships
6-2 up during the first session today, before losing the final frame to finish at 6-3, Kyren Wilson loses tonight’s first two frames to be pegged back to 6-5. Could the Crucible Curse strike again……….
EDIT
Make that 6-7 now, including the final frame of that first session, that’s now 5 in a row to Lei Peifan.
Peifan is playing with no fear, I can’t see Wilson turning this round

Hold the front page, Peifan misses a red to let Wilson back in the frame and he clears the table , 8-9 now

Keep holding that front page
Wilson levels at 9-9 after being 6-9 down
Wilson played a magnificent blue to bring the last red into play and clear up that last frame to set up the final frame shoot out

This did not age well!!!!ironilunga wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 2:14 am My winner? I’m going for Wilson to break the curse and retain his title.
The qualifiers have come flying out the box. Along with Wilson, Robertson looks in real trouble and Williams has a fight on his hands.
Great stuff

Williams has long been a favourite of mine and Robertson really should have added to his solitary title.
My tips not fareing well so far.ironilunga wrote: ↑Sun Apr 20, 2025 2:53 am My winner? I’m going for Wilson to break the curse and retain his title.

To be fair Mark Williams is well in his game still but Robertson is definitely up against it.
Lei Peifan played brilliantly last night and defending champion Kyren Wilson just took long to get going but from 6-9 down he showed his mettle to take it all the way.
Gutted for Wilson but pleased to see Peifan win the decider with a solid break. At 9-7 up, Peifan got an outrageous ****ed red that very nearly closed out the match which would have left a slightly sour taste but in the end Wilson won that frame.
Good luck to Peifan and this tournament feels like Chinese players are going to do very well. Peifan had already won the Scottish Open this season so was always a tricksy first round match for Wilson, who I’m sure will be in more finals to come.

Not too bothered by Wilson losing to be honest. Comes across as very arrogant.

And tbh when someone has grafted and worked hard to reach the very top of something, always cut them a little slack..

Great effort from Neil Robertson last night but another seed falls and of my original 3 picks, it’s just Mark Williams left already.
This tournament is wide open without a doubt

Re: Snooker: 2025 Halo World Championships
Higgins gets out of jail in that morning session with O’Connor. Outscored heavily with a best break of just 47, Higgins pinched the final frame to trail 4-5 when he really could have been 3-6 down. Can see this match going all the way when they play to a finish tonight
