Ah, Lynsey de Paul, the epitome of seventies phwoar.
You can keep the duelling pianos, though.
(Wasn't this a theme tune for something?)

Aaah Leo Sayer, despite this one being bang average, I did argue his case on here that he did some quality stuff and wasn't a 'camp' joke. Geezer. But maybe not this song.

He's a Brighton lad, you know. Local legend, lot of work for charidee.vietnammer wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 9:07 pm Aaah Leo Sayer, despite this one being bang average, I did argue his case on here that he did some quality stuff and wasn't a 'camp' joke. Geezer. But maybe not this song.
I bumped into him a while ago and he said my hair reminded him of the barman from Cheers. I said "Leo Sayer, you make me feel like Danson".

Re: The Top of the Pops Thread
Four pages of chat about a week where the highlights were Cheryl Baker in sparkly hotpants and a middling Squeeze song is pretty impressive work.

Re: The Top of the Pops Thread
My daughter really liked the 1997 episode with al the slightly clubby RnB stuff, which she didn't know at all.

Re: The Top of the Pops Thread
After the snooker on BBC4 last night they played two episodes which I believe were from 1983 and 1982.
Some really good stuff in there - Kissing The Pink, Haircut 100, The Creatures etc although the segment featuring the Asian charts was a bit leftfield (and short-lived)!
